Hi everybody, I’m a UI/UX designer and I wanna contribute to the community here with my expertise. Here is a quick prototype for a Android Lemmy app with Material You Design, it’s a simple and customizable app. With this app, I also want to improve the experience when exploring different servers....
I switched to Liftoff. I was on Jerboa for the last few weeks as I figured things out, but liftoff is much smoother and has yet to give me an error code
I used to downvote fairly often on Reddit as a sign to disagree or to push down really disgusting bigoted comments. And to be honest, it became a habit to just downvote without replying. However, now that I’m on lemmy and not Reddit I’ve been actively trying to not instantly downvote things and instead move on or take the...
OP stated Meta/Threads users would still be able to see posts, but they wouldn’t be able to interact. If M/T were an unbiased player, they could easily allow Lemmy users to interact on Threads with their Lemmy accounts (not giving any of your personal info over to Meta), but we all know that won’t happen.
I can’t see a positive reason to invite the weasel into the chicken coop
I feel the same. I have real conversations and get real answers, without some annoying moderator or karmabot inserting themselves and stopping the discourse
Facebook was ruined for me when they stopped showing me what my friends were up to, and instead plastered my feed with ads and “popular” posts instead of the things I care about. I haven’t logged in for years. I should delete Facebook, but since it isn’t on any of my devices they aren’t getting anything from me
Somebody else said it, but the whole “Reddit CEO being disconnected and treating us like we don’t know shit” left a bad taste. I hope he loses his job for his hubris, and Reddit as whole either goes back to the old days or perishes completely
I personally can’t wait to see communities like hiphopheads, internetisbeautiful, listentothis… join lemmy and become as active as they were on reddit. what are some of y’all fav?
Please PLEASE get this one up and running! That place is a treasure trove of information. So much so, they should have their own website while maintaining a lemmy domain. That info should be disseminated across multiple platforms so it isn’t lost.
Maybe the Ask history mods don’t understand how to use it yet? This platform does take a bit of learning, but every update seems like it increases the end user experience
What are tankies? What does sea-lioning mean?
I’ve run across these terms several times, but without enough context to figure out what they mean. Could someone help me out, please?...

Is it just me or did anyone else became a more avid poster since joining lemmy?
On reddit I was a lurker that posted like once or twice a year, but ever since joining lemmy I’ve started posting multiple times a day.
