psud,

Burn the blunt d4 people! Caltrop d4 is the only d4!

psud,

I have long d3s

psud,

It would be ceiling(D12/3)

psud,

A friend works in a supermarket. He responded when told there was a fire in the carpark and led the effort to suppress the fire and protect the cars

He got $200 in store credit for his effort

psud,

Surely 1 when landing a plane indicates a go around

psud,

And IBM asked for Microsoft to do the operating system because they had just survived an anti trust trial, and didn’t dare release a system with their own OS for fear of reigniting the anti trust case

Otherwise PCs would have shipped with Unix

psud,

That’s effecting change

Effecting in this case means making

If you affect something you change it, you can affect the trajectory of a ball

It’s the odd one in the affect/effect series

psud,

When I was young I missed so many signals (though I dare anyone to understand the signals sent by a teen tomboy) I married the woman whose first move was a hug

After being married, then after being divorced and too broken to date then I saw every signal, but they all quietened down (or I was missing them) when I was ready to date again

Some non-signals are pretty bold though - at a recent music festival a woman wanted to kiss every man present. I’m not up for cheating so I dodged her

She wasn’t out on the hunt, she was on ecstasy

psud,

Reincarnation can cure all ills

*You may be reincarnated as a half orc. If unhappy with new body, consult with your local druid. Full price is charged for all reincarnations. Ensure your soul is happy to come back or permanent death may occur. No refunds

psud,

Especially with the great number of good healers, you’d expect some charity greater restorations

psud,

Murder + last breath + cure light wounds gives them a whole new body, with only a 3% chance of being a half orc

psud,

Thank you for quoting the Great Prophet

psud,

I had this. I was a happy scrum master in an area that said scrum masters must not be managers - conflict between duties of the two

I moved to a different project and suddenly I’m a manager. Not even a pay rise.

At least I feel I’m good at it, though I favour scrum master methods for getting people to perform, rather than manager tools

psud,

We evolved in a world with little sugar, few starchy plants. 15,000 years ago everyone (except those where sugar cane grew) had excellent teeth

In the fossil record bad teeth come at the same time as bread, though it took sugar (especially in fizzy drinks) to make everyone fat and diabetic

I eat carnivore and haven’t brushed my teeth in five years and have not had any tooth aches

psud,

Password contains characters used in previous password or attempted password. Choose a new password between 15 and 17 characters using at least one capital letter, one lower case letter, one special character and one of the other sort of special character

Much of the stuff about salt and heart health is bullshit. It’s from a well publicized hypothesis that was never tested

Having said that we don’t need much, I don’t add salt to the beef which is more than 90% of my diet, I do add a small amount of salt to water after a heavy drinking session, it’s good for rehydration, and I don’t drink, especially heavily often

When I was on keto I took a lot of salt (which is why I looked up the current scientific position on it) and I can tell you it’s pretty difficult to take too much, salt tastes terrible if you have had enough

The thing that increased heart disease: same as everything else, sugar. It prevents use of the circulating fat, which is carried in high density cholesterol. Fatty acids (fats) build up as you eat more fats but cannot burn them because carbohydrates must be burnt first

The HDL cholesterol exceeds its lifespan with nowhere to deliver the fat and breaks up, this increases free fatty acids (with no protective cholesterol cage) and small fragments of the HDL cage, those fragments are the ones that embed in the walls of blood vessels, collect calcium and eventually break off as a calcified clump and blocks something important

psud,

This is the largest battery, three motor version of the vehicle, the performance model.

The smaller battery/single motor version will be cheaper, it will also be the last one produced

psud,

Mine is 7hr 21mins. It is too long.

psud,

I’m picturing all the services complaining their keys are insecure, their configs are insecure

psud,

You see it because on GNU/Linux (and other *nixes) you have good reason to get at protected files if you administer the machine, and because you forget to sudo things

Where Windows rarely needs proof the current user is still authorised

psud,

That was bumble bees specifically, and we do know how they fly

psud,

Though the baby’s path has lips it’s really not a mouth

psud,

People have been hospitalised for too much spinach

psud,

And people are allergic to penicillin, which is that fungus, but super purified (as caffeine pills are to coffee, but more so)

psud,

People get IPAs even when they’re normal strength

psud,

Maybe. But it used to be more true, back when IPA meant strong and bitter, and other terms were used for the high flavour beers

psud,

I have several shops designed and NPC staffed in the characters home town. They seem allergic to selling or buying though

psud, (edited )

You can’t afford food?

psud,

Groups I have noticed in the past few months, who have released something in this past year

  • Post Malone
  • Doja car
  • Billie Eilish
  • Rum Jungle
psud,

He’s using the fine grating side, as is appropriate for parmesan

When using one of the small sides of the grater, you hold it by the large edges, but since you’re not rubbing your fingers up and down the blades you will be uninjured

psud,

In my (Australian) public service career I have watched a team of 100 public servants deliver and keep updated a data capture and processing system

A large American service company now does that job with four times the people. It took years to get them to add keyboard shortcuts to their product - the original was entirely mouse driven; and their product didn’t meet contrast rules for months

psud,

Yeah it seems good for characters starting at level 4, those starting at level 1 are too insignificant to have any juicy rumours, but early level events become rumour as you get further from the place, time and people involved

My group got to level 2 in a dungeon crawl in which they got pretty wealthy. They had a deal with the guy who owned the entry to the dungeon, which they honoured, but no one else knows what they faced underground, how wealthy they got…

I can imagine they’ll hear about their exploits amplified if they go to a t in a neighbouring town

psud,

That’s a very long time for Maccas, unless you were ordering for twenty people

Even when nothing in your order is ready they can get out a standard meal in less than ten minutes, normally

psud,

The Australian government used faxes well into the 2000s, I think the last three faxes I sent though were through my modem

psud,

Me and my mate have sent money to each other for kitty balancing on fishing trips, this year (about an hour ago) he sent me his share (high hundreds) and it was instant

We don’t use phone number since we have had each other’s bank details for ages

psud,

TiB (and the related) didn’t get named until recently, and I think only Linux uses those abbreviations — and not universally — windows still says kB, mB etc, while using the binary equivalents

psud,

I have run games in a few different styles, sometimes with a list of enemies and monsters and story on the fly; other times with a few sessions well planned

Right now I’m running a pretty cheap story, with procedurally generated landscape and dungeons, and stories inspired by the d20srd.org random adventure generator

Once years ago I wrote a plan for my group that ran to forty pages, but I knew them well and felt I could predict how they’d go - they were led around by the temptation of riches

psud,

Who’s that guy they just killed with the village leader’s head dress? I dont know either.

He certainly has a son who was out hunting at the time, who now has a grudge

psud, (edited )

I found them in local bushland (Australia) in the late 80s

I presume they were hidden by older boys who didn’t dare take them home where a parent may find them

I also didn’t dare keep them at home long, that book of bush went back into the bush

psud, (edited )

My d&d 3.5 druid has a contingent reincarnate last breath (to activate upon death). That (and reincarnate) are the only reviving spells that put you in a young body, beating aging

The cost is a random roll on what race your new body will be (and 500gp worth of ungents and oils)

A game I want someone to run for me is that druid and their party after decades of adventuring all set up with reincarnate, but all with a distaste for cheering the solution, going on one last adventure trying to die making the world a better place

psud,

Everyone forgets druids :(

psud,

Nothing wrong with either position. I need a windows machine, for example for Balders Gate, but most of my machines run Linux

Windows handles remote connections to work (via Citrix) better than Linux though, when both ends are set to dvorak, the windows client gives you dvorak; the Linux client gives you a mess (dvorak mapped as if it was qwerty to dvorak) - one end need to be set to qwerty

psud,

I’m definitely fake

psud,

Even Reddit has small communities. There will always be groups where you recognise many of the names

I miss /r/enfp though (over of those tiny subs). So many regulars are gone, it really went down hill with the death of apps and I don’t visit it anymore

psud,

I’m pretty sure I have seen paid content here, though some real people are too excited over unexciting products

psud,

Nihao scambot, I have seen you

psud,

The solution is to read a community for a bit before commenting, or especially before posting. Learn what it allows, what it promotes, keep away from those communities you disagree with

psud,

You don’t get many thieves in reasonably wealthy countries with reasonably level stratification
