#Introduction: I am Peter, 83 yrs young. Grandfather, father, husband, and dog dad.
Retired after 45 years in the Data Processing / IT world . #Autism. Hobbies used to be: driving #cars to nowhere, fast, #sailing, #reading #SciFi "Foundation Trilogy", #History books b/c wanted to know why Hitler, scientific books on how the world works. I am fascinated by #complexity. There are no simple answers, only complex ones and since systems adapt (complex adaptive systems) the answers keep changing.

Hello peoples....
My GP has given me an Adult "ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS-v1.1) Symptom Checklist" as part of trying to get medication prescribed.
Some questions ask about social interactions, but my answers will be impacted by my ASC1 ( ) traits (Questions 15, 17 and 18 just seem like they would be too rude to do.)
Is that likely to impact my NHS diagnosis?

It's the healthy demand avoidance side of me speaking. I tend to get bitchy around demands for conformity.

Like I need to adopt a new mask. At my age.

I had just been hired & been working at this place 4 a couple of month when a new hire showed but with a severe face skin problem and he wore glasses with coke bottoms for lenses. He was social - we talked a bit. But after a month I noticed no co-worker would join him 4 lunch. So - he & I went 4 lunch & invited ourselves 2 different co-workers tables. Pretty soon he had lunch companions and I went back to having solitary lunch - the way I like it.

I am working on a short talk (~15m) for work about .

Any advice, things I definitely should/shouldn’t cover? Web resources with examples of such talks done well?

On the docket so far: identity- vs person-first language, under diagnosis, masking, executive dysfunction, sensory processing, special interests, truth/veracity, alexythemia.
