Good friends of mine would like a reprieve so they can have their anniversary dinner. I’ve been a camp counsellor and was pretty good at it but those kids were all 6 years old, this one is 13 months old. Adorable kid but I figure maybe some folks here might have good ideas/thoughts/suggestions/crass jokes?
Hello, Canadians of Lemmy! Down in the USA there is a lot of conflicting information regarding the efficacy of y’alls healthcare systems. Without revealing my personal bias, I was hoping for some anecdotes or summaries from those whom actually live there.
In BC the wait times are longer. But this is a symptom of the underfunding from federal and provincial governments. COVID was tough on the health care systems and they did a lot with what they had. Now should be the time to invest in the system and get it healthy again, but apparently more pipelines are the priority…
But overall I am satisfied for our system. It does not cost taxpayers an arm and a leg to fund it, and an emergency won’t bankrupt someone. If you can get extended coverage such as with an employer then you pay minimal amounts for dental, medications, and paramedical services like physio or massage. From what I hear of the American system, I am shocked that there isn’t some type of bare bones coverage for everyone. Sounds like a third world country from up here…
At least they got rid of the horribly designed all-in-one internet toggle, but this is still a pointless extra click. I have limited mobile data and disabling it helps with battery life. Stop being so pushy, Google!
I have a gate mounted to a 6x8 post where the center has rotted out of the post. I am looking to fill the center of the post, rather then replace it if I could. Not in my experience. Perhaps if you were charging at a location which charges an inflated rate. At my current electrical costs in Canada, electric is cheaper per kilometre.
Why do British Columbia stories come from Winnipeg free press? Not saying it’s an incorrect story, I’m just confused why I’m seeing a lot of Winnipeg sources in the BC forum.
A top Pentagon official has attacked this week’s widely watched congressional hearing on UFOs, calling the claims “insulting” to employees who are investigating sightings and accusing a key witness of not cooperating with the official U.S. government investigation.
Hi Friends! This drain is right in front of the entrance to our basement-level garage, at the bottom of a ramp leading down to it. Heavy rain makes it overflow, even with the grate off (I know it needs to be cleaned)....
Take the sediment out. You may need someone to come in and clean the drains. Usually an exterior drain backs up either with debris or roots, they can constrict the flow or block it completely. Fix it now, if it is left the only solution would be installing new pipes which is a lot more work!
Depends on the box, it could be gravel underneath but it I would bet is a solid concrete box with pipes coming in at the top and a drain pipe below that is supposed to take all the water away. Once you clear it out you will see what you are dealing with. The similar setup at my house has 3 perimeter drain lines coming in, and one drain line that goes to the street sewer. Every house is difficult. Take a picture when you have it cleaned out so you can refer back to it next time.
At first this article reads like your typical anti-piracy screed. It rants about how 10x more people watched GoT illegally (confusing them with lost sales) and ends with how downloading movies can get your credit card stolen....
I wasn’t even able to stream it legally in Canada. The only way I could watch it legally was to get a cable subscription and a $15/mo HBO package. Fuck that!
It is not. But GoT was not available to stream in Canada. Without any streaming options, piracy was the only way to watch… Unless of course I wanted cable and HBOs pricey package.
How so? There was no streaming option in Canada for GoT. HBO max was not offered. I even tried with a VPN but they wouldn’t accept a Canadian credit card. So piracy was the only option unless I wanted to get cable… But who would want that.
But raising interest rates is the only way Bank of Canada knows how to decrease inflation. It’s obvious that the citizens are causing inflation that is hurting businesses. /s
Consumers aren’t causing inflation. Corporations are causing it. The issue isn’t Canadians spending too much money on luxuries, they are spending too much on rent, groceries, and other necessities. Bank of Canada is kicking Canadians who are already struggling. What a giant fuck you to consumers. You are right, the government is responsible for not doing something about the corporate profits.
I believe the sex toy industry was there first. There’s a toy that vibrates with varying intensities based off the music that is being played… Just saying…

I’ve done this before by uploading the file to google drive which stripped the password off. I remember viewing it no problem but saving it was a few more steps. This was several years ago though so… Good luck!

I've forgotten the password to a word .docx file I made 9 months ago, is there any chance I can get in without knowing it?
Brute forcing would be fine, since I don’t think I would’ve used a long password for this, but I don’t know how to automate that either. Any ideas?
