Ozempic is not a general purpose weight loss product, it’s for people with diabetes who can’t control their weight only using exercise and diet.

Yes, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semaglutide

Wegovy is approved for people with obesity, or genetics that lead to obesity. It’s also not a general purpose weight loss product, it’s for people who can’t control their weight without medication.

You just have to accept that you win some and lose some, there is no way to micromanage 1.5 million different projects spread allover the EU.

In the end, it’s still a net positive, even if a lot of projects fully or partially fail.

Why if we see fork, snap always the problem : Canonical LXD forked... (news.ycombinator.com)

“Canonical only having snap releases was harmful to adoption. I liked using lxd, but uninstalled snapd (forgetting lxd used it), and my vms obviously stopped. Snap wouldn’t reinstall properly (various inscrutable errors), so I moved it all over to libvirt. I’d still be happily using lxd if it weren’t for Canonical’s...

They want Ubuntu users to use snap, which unsurprisingly isn’t very popular.

One of the main arguments for picking Ubuntu over Debian was the installation process, but Debian made the installation process much easier, by allowing non-free firmware.

Ubuntu got worse, and Debian got better, anyone unhappy with Ubuntu should just switch to Debian with Gnome and the problem is largely solved.

It said it did not accept the argument that such protests were permissible in the name of freedom of expression.

You are going to have a hard time explaining to a secular society that your book is above all else.

I’m guessing it’s because Denmark was the first country to legalize pornography, I think the person in the image is trying to sell pornographic magazines.

At least that was the only way I could get it to make sense.

EU defends appointment of US economist in top job despite backlash [has become obsolete as Morton is not taking the job, see the link in the thread] (www.euronews.com)

The appointment of Fiona Scott Morton, a former competition economist for the US Justice Department who has also lobbied on behalf of Apple, Amazon and Microsoft, has set off alarm bells in Brussels and Paris. Morton’s mandate would involve advising the EU Commission on investigations into alleged anti-competitive behaviour,...

The one thing that rubs me the wrong way, is her history with conflict of interest. She knew that it would be unethical not to disclose she was working with Apple and Amazon, and she is defending what she did by saying she didn’t break any laws.

She knew it was wrong and did it any ways, it says a lot about a person.

She has a history of not disclosing that she worked with Apple and Amazon, the reason being she doesn’t have too and they don’t break the law. She doesn’t really seem like the type of person you want handling classified documents on the highest level.

I don’t feel that needs to be regulated by the EU, it’s fine that the general rule is that there has to be 5-year checks, and the rest is up to the individual member states.

Your EU license is also valid in the US, doesn’t mean you get to dictate US law.

And each country get to decide things like the legal age, this isn’t decided by the EU, and each country also get to decide if they accept driver younger than the limit age in their country, so no a license is just valid anywhere without restrictions.

neuromancer,

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_driving_licence

It is up to each member state to accept foreign licenses with younger ages than the local minimum age of acquisition.

It is obliviously not decided by the EU, it’s decided by local law.

The developer properly prefers how the desktop looks without icons, I also never use icons on the desktop, I think it makes it look messy.

That said, I understand why many want icons on the desktop.
