lastweakness,

Cyberpunk 2077 is an actually great game now. Always had the potential to be one, but the devs fucked it up. But at the core, it was still a good game. And then the devs dedicated the time needed to make it actually great. If Starfield becomes the same in a couple of years, what’s wrong with picking it up then? Just don’t pick it up right now.

lastweakness,

Yes, i didn’t mean the devs literally. I just meant cdpr.

lastweakness,

May I ask why?

lastweakness,

People like you are why the Linux community is viewed as being toxic.

Proton Mail CEO Calls New Address Verification Feature 'Blockchain in a Very Pure Form' (tech.slashdot.org)

Proton Mail, the leading privacy-focused email service, is making its first foray into blockchain technology with Key Transparency, which will allow users to verify email addresses. From a report: In an interview with Fortune, CEO and founder Andy Yen made clear that although the new feature uses blockchain, the key technology...

lastweakness,

They’re the maintainers of the most popular JS PGP library and they’re pushing for some major upgrades to the PGP standard. There’s no competing standard. Proton is pretty much the only popular encrypted mail provider that actually does interop well enough.

lastweakness,

Tumbleweed KDE is definitely sweet. Can also recommend Fedora.

lastweakness,

Given Microsoft’s track record, it’s also not hard to believe, which makes it even worse

OSS Notetaking App: Notesnook (notesnook.com)

Just wanted to share my experience with notesnook as a daily note taking and information organizer app. The free tier is fairly barebones but you can use it for simple stuff, but I’ll say that the paid $50 per year tier is really nice. I’m surprised at the polish and feature set for a OSS project from 2019 but it’s also...

lastweakness,

They’re literally working on making it possible to self-host it.

lastweakness,

They’ve just implemented really good sync btw. So far, it has been great. Might see some issues at some point, idk…

lastweakness,

Or maybe they just want to disclose as little of their personal information, including services relied on, on an open platform like this. Idk if that’s the case, but playing devil’s advocate here

lastweakness,

Update notifications probably

lastweakness,

That’s not the point. It’s about how you might be using a distro that isn’t debian-based

lastweakness,

I really want to use Bitwarden and I pay for the premium as well, but it’s starting to bother me that a lot of basic stuff is missing despite years of user requests.

  • An Auto-fill UI for the web interface
  • Credit card auto-fill
  • A way to refresh from the auto-fill menu on the Android UI

I just tried Proton Pass (I have unlimited anyway) and it’s not better, but at least they seem to be working on these.

lastweakness,

I have replied above: lemmy.world/comment/1988541

lastweakness,

Can Authy really be trusted?

lastweakness,

Same, Hetzner Storage Share has been really good for me so far.

lastweakness,

Why not just use Aegis with a remote backup?

lastweakness,

Something I’m really looking forward to is the ability to self-host Notesnook. I’m currently really happy with the hosted service already and am looking forward to self-hosting it as well.

lastweakness,

I assume privacy

lastweakness,

Install it on Firefox

lastweakness,

Yes, use Firefox on Android to install the PWA. Brave also seems to work well from what I’ve seen.
