But at the same time, it also will be a huge change. You’ll be reading about things happening in another country.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

In this case I am inclined to think it’s a good thing, being able to move to another country, that’s only 2 - 3 hours away. Even if it’s technically the same thing, someone moving from Miami to the same city, would culturally feel like moving to another part of the world.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

Ok, first time I’ll admit that there is something not getting on the “everything is a dildo, if …” - even if this thing would exist irl officially labelled as a dildo.

I still don’t know how to cross post…

Very cool - thanks!

I also remained positive about the outcome, since this owl seems to have remained calm ( or was it frozen in fear? ) during the whole thing… I hope it is somewhere, surrounded by friends “you guys will never believe where i was …”

Why are they also being shot at with arrows?

I mean, velocity indicators would run parallel to the ground, but these are coming from slightly above them.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

Exactly this scenario was my second thought, off a ramp and just landing.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

Jetzt kann ich das nicht mehr ungesehen machen.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

It went another direction …

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

… Cooper said, adding that “no cetaceans have mobile thumbs.”

Didn’t imagine them with thumbs in the first place. So, their fins are hands, with fingers, but the tissue connecting them remains, forming the fin. In humans the connecting tissue dies off.

Patrick Duffy had fin hands in that 70’s Aquaman? series. Saw that as a kid and absolutely wanted that.

Shackleton - There is a Seed

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

Wow - it’s a long road until you reach that episode.

But I’m so jealous, you’re watching everything for the first time - what a dream

Just reading your sentence made the screensaver crawl it’s way through my brain, in those beloved colors, fast mode.

They will run in circles in the hall, while getting products out of the machines

kamenlady,

They are truly penis owls, hilarious

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

It must have been a powerful owl that took that lady and threw her down the stairs…

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

I’m with the elf owl

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

I was talking about her, but really only making a joke, i didn’t even remember the details

Thanks for reminding me ( i had even forgotten the name ).

Some animals are lucky to have good humans around them: https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/077fc4a7-c59a-438f-ab83-a3a7b39a77a7.png

The price for being able to fly silently iirc? The shape of the feathers and not having that layer that makes them waterproof, enable it to not make sound white flying.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

Or the reason for being cool for some. It really depends on your viewpoint, both of them.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

I’m getting into an age, where my experienced decades are becoming an abstract blur and every year more conscious that i am now in the far far future i fantasized about, when i was young.

It changes perspectives and expectations of what’s to come.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

Love this

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, pretty disappointed… On one hand the computer dream came true and surpassed my expectations, but on the other hand everything else went down the hill and hasn’t even reached the bottom yet.

Just today i got: You are not on the sudoers list, this will be reported!

Edit: i kept trying and hoping the message would increase in urgency and verbosity

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

To root themselves

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

I sometimes get into some kind of fight, if I’m not really logged in as root and have to do things the sudo way. I’m not so deep in Linux, so I’ll ask bluntly:

Is it always a user error if you have trouble doing things with sudo or is it possible that the way sudo was configured for your user makes your life hard?

Over the years i had lots of clients, where i would be given sudo rights and the experiences doing so were pretty diverse, ranging from “feeling at home and just typing away” to “am i fucking crazy? Nothing goes as expected”

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

The machines were always set up by the client’s team, mostly not being anymore onboard. I only got the server address + credentials, so i could check for web related issues on them. I am experienced enough to know how inexperienced i am with things other than my area of work.

Sometimes they had issues on machines they only had credentials to, but no one to fix. The main sudo trouble i sometimes had, was when trying to work on websites, that were all created by root …

A surprise and a very welcome one

It will be a great sight, while a ladybug sucks the fluids out of your body

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

The first time i saw a documentary about this as a kid, with plenty of footage of poor Insects seeking high places, climbing to the top and burst those spores in the air in order to disperse them as far as possible, i was unable to sleep.

I just couldn’t wrap my head around the whole ordeal and the kind of power such a fungus has.

I know, they are unable to do this to bigger animals ( for reasons i don’t remember ), but for how long? If evolution taught me something, it’s that it finds a fucking way or/and a way to fuck.

From now on I’ll always see Kim, when i encounter the original in some meme

It’s so good

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

You don’t need to imagine, that’s the sad part

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

Oof, glad I’m not alone

Wait…

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

You guessed correctly, congratulations!

We’ll be driving your prize to your front door in an instance and by tonight you can take your new truck for a ride and experience first hand, that it really works!

Say those pesky neighbors kids good bye and enjoy your new life as a true king of the road!

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

You’ll have to press, for it to shoot. Very carefully, it triggers when it’s just about to plop out.

kamenlady,
@kamenlady@lemmy.world avatar

I like to think they know exactly that, the way they strike their poses, in (almost) everything they do, just looks awesome to everyone watching.

I’ve also seen enough evidence that they can and do behave like the dorkiest cat ever.
