Do I have to give another talk on how push notifications work? With @Mer__edith of @signalapp spreading lies and news outlets like @heiseonline amplifying their nonsense I feel like their is a lot of confusion out there on how push works. Google’s push notifications aren’t delivered by fairy dust and don’t consume any battery.
TLDR: You can de-google your phone. Install Conversations. It is the only app running in background. It will use #UnifiedPush to wake up other apps like Tusky and Ltt.rs.
@fifilamoura@daniel interesting that you all are mostly ignoring that "this guy" is actually someone with quite a lot of experience in the exact field of getting notifications inside an Android app without Google's push services and that not only "to get attention"

Nein, alte AFD Frau. Das macht nicht die Regierung. Das macht der Inhaber des Geschäfts, weil ihm die Grundgebühr für jede Kartenzahlung zu hoch ist, als dass es sich für ihn anders lohnt. Weil das Preismodell seiner Bank für ihn ungünstig ist. 🧵

Was will man denn heutzutage so als schlanke CalDAV/CardDAV Lösung haben?
Wenn möglich, sollte die Software darauf spezialisiert sein, zuverlässig sein und einfach ihren Job erledigen. Nextcloud oder ganze Groupwares sind mir zu overpowered für dein Einsatz beim Kunden.
Am besten nichts mit NodeJS oder irgendwelcher Java Ranz. Gerne irgendwas in Go oder Rust, PHP ist auch akzeptabel.
