I think out of cockpit and webmin, I like webmin more. Idk. Just feels nicer with the UI and how things are laid out.

Was will man denn heutzutage so als schlanke CalDAV/CardDAV Lösung haben?

Share your 😘

snowyday, to nostupidquestions in is there an easy way for non-technical experts to set up their own Lemmy

Thank you, but I hope you can understand that these steps are still very technical for someone who doesn’t do this work otherwise

————————————

Install Docker if you don’t already have it

docs.docker.com/engine/install/

Clone the repo

git clone github.com/ubergeek77/Lemmy-Easy-Deploy

Change into the directory

cd ./Lemmy-Easy-Deploy

Check out the latest tag

git checkout $(git describe --tags git rev-list --tags --max-count=1)

Copy config.env.example to config.env

cp ./config.env.example ./config.env

Make sure the DNS records for your domain point to your server

Edit the config.env file, and at minimum, change LEMMY_HOSTNAME to be your domain. Then…

Deploy!

./deploy.sh

If you think words like , , , or especially are intuitive, welcoming, or commonly understood language outside of techie circles,

then I’d like to ask that you pause and consider broadening your empathy.

Most humans don’t know what these words mean. That reduces their likelihood to embrace a nice place like , and condemns anyone who has expertise in other fields to ad-based social media.

Question for my system engineers:

What's better for a home lab

  1. One application per VM
  2. Couple applications per VM
  3. All applications on one VM

I got around 6-7 applications that run on my server

#linux #server #servers #systemengineers #vm #virtualmachine #truenas #jellyfin #plex #emby #pihole #homeassistant #ubuntu #ubuntuserver
