Reddit was once an enjoyable experience but...
The toxicity became too much to bear. I couldn’t go a post or a comment anymore without someone wanting to give me a hard time for it. Downvote brigading, using antagonizing logic to try and bait for responses that they want. The users digging into your post history to bring up things that have nothing to do with, with what...

Seems like a light week for the July 4th Holiday....
Why shouldn't anyone switch to iOS?
I’m planning on switching platforms and I’m just curious of the opinions of people here. I think that Android can have advantages in areas of privacy and external app installation, but most of the benefits come with a lot of tinkering out of the box....
What's your "old person" trait? (feddit.ch)
My old person trait is that I think ‘ghosting’ is completely unacceptable and you owe the other person a face-to-face conversation.
My Reddit Account got banned for the dumbest reason.
In a post regarding climate change I called another user an “Ignorant Slut” like that line from the Office. Anyways got permanently banned site wide and I just can’t help but wonder if that was necessary....
So how long before Spez's face is pasted all over this? (youtu.be)
Now no one will ever see all those super long !remindme bot posts set for 5, 10 or 15 years on Reddit
Anyone else keep pressing the RIF app out of habit?
…but I don’t want to get rid of it! Been using RIF since 2011 and it’d feel so weird to take it off my home screen. I tried the Reddit app but it pollutes the front page with so much unnecessary shit that it becomes a chore to browse. Liking the look of Lemmy so far though.
Indiana Jones and Flash flopped hard. Could this be the beginning of the end for franchise films?
For the last few years franchise movies like star wars, marvel, etc. made money regardless of quality. However now it seems like audiences are being choosier when it comes to these kinds of tentpole releases. I’ve seen some people online say that the movie/theater industry is losing people in general but I don’t think...
So what's everyone reading this week? (blog.gocollect.com)
Seeing lots of online comic strips posted here, not a lot of discussion about actual comic BOOKS....
Can someone explain Asteroid City to me?
I just came back from seeing Asteroid City and it really has me at a loss. I’ve only seen The Grand Budapest hotel of his other movies but know of the inherent weirdness of his movies. I usually know how to classify and discuss a movie after I’ve seen it but this one left me kind of speechless. Not in the sense that I...
What made you pick the Lemmy server you are on?
Does it actually matter?
How did Lemmy.world become more popular than Lemmy.ml?
I don’t understand how Lemmy.world developers managed to surpass both Lemmy.ml and Beehaw.org instances in user activity.
Why all of a sudden tech companies are not being favorable to their users?
YouTube disallowing adblockers, Reddit charging for API usage, Twitter blocking non-registered users. These events happen almost at the same time. Is this one of the effects of the tech bubble burst?
What streaming services do you pay for?
Obviously the answers here might be a bit lower than other places…
The price of a cinema ticket in this day and age. No wonder people aren't going to the cinema anymore. (lemmy.world)
I can't believe I supported them...
Back when reddit was arguing in favor of net neutrality against Ajit Pai, I wrote them a note which they included in their FCC filing. I think there were all of five or so redditors they included for that....
Do you think reddit will survive this?
Will they go the way of MySpace or will this truly blow over in a few week?
