I'm just feeling lonely and out of sorts.

I had a joke reported and removed from what should have been a private communication.

I got attacked and called a racist coward on here by a crazy.

And

My only person in meatspace moved upstairs. I actually connected with a dude in the honeless shelter, and my mind was improving by leaps and bounds, but somebody bought him a spot in the fancy section.

I definitely get that. Have you ever heard of The Four Agreements? Don Miguel Ruiz.

One of the agreements is "Don't Take Anything Personally", and it specifically says that other people's reactions to us is their issue. They see us through the filter of their own issues.

I'm a firm believer in making space for marginalized people. I am a minority in many ways, except that I am white. I acknowledge that privilege, and try to use it to benefit others.

December 12th is always an emotional day for me. It's my late wife Barbara's birthday, and the wells up and spills out.

Today was absolutely just such a day. And to top it off, my roommate went off on a rant about how my depth of feeling on that topic is wrong and unhealthy. Not her words. I cleaned it up.

I had a huge meltdown as a result. Now I'm exhausted, and in pain. I'm turning in for tonight. I hope.

For those of my comrades who understood that they're autistic later in life, did you find that the realization helped you get your life into a better spot? Or did it make things more complicated?

@actuallyautistic

@theautisticcoach

I only just (at age 65) self-DX as autistic back in October of this year. It has been helpful in a couple of ways. Most prominent to those was to allow me to understand why I've had so much trouble making friends, and maintaining relationships long term.

@actuallyautistic

There was a time, many years ago, when I intended to go to law school after graduating college. But I suffered and never followed through. I had already taken the LSAT and been accepted.

I've only just self-DX as autistic. I've been thinking about all the ways that affected my life. I think I am beginning to understand a lot of things that never made sense.

Do my comrades who have find themselves vomiting often? Especially when standing up and sitting rapidly.

@actuallyautistic

janetlogan,
@janetlogan@mas.to avatar

@theautisticcoach

A couple of months ago, I might have said yes. Then I learned that I probably don't actually have POTS. I'm recently diagnosed with AFib.

I guess the vomiting was migraine or seizure related. Yes, I am a mess, thank you.

I've no plans for today, and I'll be alone. My roommate is going to a friend's for Thanksgiving. Don't worry, my self is perfectly happy alone, and honestly I prefer to avoid holiday celebrations.

I hope you have a grand day no matter your plans, or lack thereof.

It's been a long eventful day. I'm tired, hurting, and my brain is at overload. I took a couple of Tylenol PM tabs, so I'm soon off to 💤.

Good night, or whatever is appropriate for your location.

A few of my followers have been following along with my cardiac diagnostic process, particularly with the skin irritation from the monitor I'm wearing.

For you who have, an update. I have a diagnosis, thanks to the monitor.

It's particularly relevant to the women on feminizing HRT, as we've all been told that estrogen increases our stroke risk.

Transdermal estrogen apparently eliminates that issue, but I had to educate my cardiologist about that fact.

The current thinking seems to be that the cardiac risks of estrogen are a result of it being metabolized in the liver. The transdermal patches eliminate that metabolism. Reference 2021:

Estrogen patches

A few days ago [...] I was excited, both because I was going to be getting estrogen patches, and that I’d been told I would be paying zero copay.

For reasons, my legal name is not the same as my real name. During that customer service call, I was repeatedly misgendered by the representative. Even after correcting her twice, she still did a third time.

I got quite insistent that time, and told her that if it happened again, I would be talking to her supervisor. Now, I am really not a confrontational person, at all.

Avoiding confrontation is a trait common among autistic people. But at this point I was getting really annoyed. She could obviously tell, and stopped with the "sir" this and "sir" that for the rest of the call.

As you will see from the blog post, I am overall disappointed by the outcome, but willing to admit that part was not her fault.

Someone, and I am sorry I cannot remember who, suggested I try out the test for recently.

My total score on that one is 130, which puts me above the average for people no matter which gender I look at.

I felt that many of those questions could be equally because I am trans as that I am .

I guess maybe it's be okay for me to claim now.

Thanks. I'll check out that one too. So far, I've taken CAT-Q and RAADS-R. Both of those put me as above average for autistic traits.

Thank you. As for being trans, I started transitioning in late 2009, so that's not exactly new. 😊
