What is the best linux alternative to OneNote?

I’ve no problem with using LibreOffice for most of my document needs, but i haven’t found a good substitute for microsoft’s OneNote yet. I mainly use it to plan my RPG games and it helps a lot. What alternatives are there for organizing notes on linux, with similar features to those that OneNote provides?

I was asking a similar question a few months ago, and my search turned up Joplin. It’s a free, open source app that works across multiple platforms and can sync data through a cloud service, either through Joplin’s own cloud storage or through a third-party cloud storage like Dropbox.

I played SaGa Frontier recently and had mixed feelings about it. How does SaGa Frontier 2 compare?

I recommend Linux Mint. It comes with good default settings but is configurable. The Cinnamon DE is exactly like that of Windows, so you don’t need a lot of effort to start using it. Mint comes with some pre-installed apps like Firefox and LibreOffice, but they may not be the latest versions, so you can purge them afterwards and reinstall through one of the package managers.

Speaking of which, Mint comes with APT and Flatpak as package managers, but Snap is disabled by default. You can enable it, if you want to.

Mint does not come with any gaming apps pre-installed, but Steam can be installed, and many games work on it, especially those that are verified to work on the Steam Deck. Lutris is another game app you can install, and that allows you access to other game platforms like Blizzard, but don’t assume that all games will work perfectly through Lutris.

It’s a great pity this game will be exclusive to the Switch. I have a Steam Deck and would like the game to be available through the Steam Store. I heard great things about it but didn’t get a chance to play the original on the SNES.

I would certainly be up for Ideas 3 and 5.

Last month, I finally got around to playing SaGa Frontier. It’s been in my Steam Library for some time, but I was busy with several other games (mostly Metroidvanias). Overall, SaGa Frontier is my 4th favorite SaGa game. I didn’t find the individual storylines in the game to be as compelling as Romancing SaGa 2 and 3, and the graphics weren’t that great in my opinion (much prefer the graphics in SaGa Scarlet Grace).

For this month, I’m replaying Trials of Mana. Gonna try out some different party combinations that I did not try the last time I played the game, which was about a year ago.

Romancing SaGa 3. Non-linear, open world exploration with a great story!
