I think it’s incredible how the internet can connect people who come from different planets like this.
I mean yeah, if food is more bitter than it is sweet then it’s unpleasant to me (even the darkest chocolate has a lot of sugar) but that still doesn’t directly stimulate pain receptors like capsaicin does at any level. Very low levels of “heat” (pain) are indeed tolerable to me, but No level above zero is more enjoyable than zero, for any type of food.
I also don’t understand that concept of “too sweet” (for things that should be sweet, I am not talking about pizza for example). The only thing that stops me from just buying sugar in bulk and eating bowls of it at a time is concern for my health/teeth. (Which of course is a strong concern, and so far has managed to keep me from being diabetic)
I seriously can’t imagine a flavor so good that I would be willing to experience significant (let alone severe) pain in order to taste it. (Nor Have I been able to taste any extra flavors in even mildly spicy food.)
I don’t doubt your experience, but I absolutely can’t relate to it, or for that matter comprehend it.
I think centripetal force is whatever is pushing/pulling the object toward the center of rotation, such as the closed door of a car pushing on you while driving around a curve, where otherwise you would fly out of the car. Another example is the wheels of the car causing it to travel on a curve instead of straight. Or the rope of a tetherball for a pulling example.
In most cases (besides orbits in space) the force is question is actually the electromagnetic force, like any other case where objects made of atoms touch.
Personally I think it’s weird to call that a specific force, especially by those who don’t want to give centrifugal force a name - sure it’s really just things “tending” to travel straight instead of following the curve, but no reason that can’t have a special name, it’s certainly intuitive enough.
I guess we just have different opinions on things like how much ‘effort’ it represents, how important it is that people interact, etc.
I feel like Lemmy will very soon be at the point where the All page isn’t going to be useful to sort by New (if it’s not there already) so minor cleanups like banning Lemmit aren’t going to make much difference. Switch it to something like Hot and I’m sure it won’t show up much at all, nor other “spam” bots.
