Normally, you'd have the key for that actor cached from past activities and can use it to validate, but mastodon blasts out deletes like a firehouse to everyone it can, so you get a lot of useless delete activities (and if you don't do the optional sharedInbox, mastodon will resend that delete individually to every user on your server).

It's best to try to detect and ignore these as early as possible in your processing because they will make up a huge portion of your traffic (we just made a change to bail on these before trying to fetch the key with Guppe and now we're saving a ton of money on server costs)

Not just likely - actual survivors of Nestle's child slavery operation came to the US for help, and the supreme court, including all 3 "liberal" justices, told them to get fucked and that it's perfectly legal for US companies to use child slave labor as long as it happens outside the US

Seeing that tag.. have you already listened to Ann Leckie's latest The Raven Tower?

I got so absorbed in this audiobook that afterwards I kept thinking I'd just finished an epic fantasy trilogy until I went back and looked it up again.
