I'm still trying both #Kbin and #Lemmy for my Strange Times postboards. So far, Lemmy seems more engaging and has an RSS feed. I have the ability to cross-post. Kbin has the microblog thing but I'm not finding it very useful. Lemmy also ahead on apps though not for desktop. I'll eventually decide which one to focus on.
There were a total of 12 threads there and not one of them was the slightest bit bigoted. Get a grip.
“WHO AM I TO JUDGE” – THE POPE’S COMMENTS ON GAY PEOPLE (dilw.ie)
Giving this post the old litmus test to see how admins vs mods handle this. Tread carefully :3 Nobody’s closer to Jesus in rank than the Pope.

Does anyone else feel churches are pushing gendered Bible studies way too hard? (kbin.social)
Maybe it’s because I was growing out of youth groups, but It seemed to me that coed Bible studies used to be more of the norm. Now all of a sudden we have men’s groups and women’s groups. And men’s groups are all about Bible, throwing axes and equating 400 pushups to mountain climb your way into heaven. And women’s...

This Sunday, pray for missionaries that are overseas. (kbin.social)
You can pray for missionaries in general (which is great), or you can ask your church about specific missionaries they support (which is also great).

How was Church? (kbin.social)
Tech difficulties meant worship was disorganised this morning, but 5 people were baptised in the sea so it was awesome....

What are you grateful to God for today? (kbin.social)
I’m feeling convicted about some sin I’ve been struggling with. Thankful that I can approach the throne of grace with confidence where I can find mercy, be freed from shame and cling to God’s strength as I seek to be holy. Praise Jesus for his love that has made this relationship possible....

Ace Lifestyle? (kbin.social)
I was reading the rules and it said "This community does not affirm practiced LGBTQ+ lifestyles, with the exception of the ace lifestyle in certain contexts.", what is an "ace lifestyle"?

What do you need prayer for? (kbin.social)
There's only a few of us right now, but we should pray for one another. What do you need prayer for?

How important is love to Christianity? (kbin.social)
Is love simply one of the attributes of God, one of the more important attributes of God, or is it the entirety of who God is?...

Introduce Yourselves (kbin.social)
Greetings, everyone! As many of you know, there is a huge influx of new users coming to Lemmy from Reddit. This includes yours truly, by the way. Whether you're a Reddit escapee or coming from somewhere else entirely, please feel free to introduce yourself here - not your real name, of course (don't doxx yourself!), but a little...
So, why not install one of the members there as mod to clean up the rule (which has never been enforced). As it is, it's been nuked - the community name is banned forever, and the members are sol.
edit: The community was deleted less than an hour after this thread went up, there was no effort made to correct the problem whatsoever.
wish these companies making soft routers would give a couple options with a nas case instead. 4 bay n5105 or n100 for cheap would be a nice low power side grade to my old e3,
Is there a way to do this? I'm a monolingual mongrel so anything that isn't in English is noise in my feed. Mastodon is somewhat able to do this and I noticed the non-English mags have a tag with the language on it, but I don't see any settings to filter them out....
I'm planning to self-host a Reddit like instance for myself, but I'm between Lemmy and kbin . Essentially I want to host my own data, and jump into discussions from other communities.
With a limited search results, people praise for #kbin, and bash #lemmy developers about their world and political views, however Lemmy is written with #rust, and Kbin with #php .
I just want to migrate to what people will be using to.
relevant magazine is /m/RedditMigration here on kbin.social. You can see it's the one and only report in the modlog yet the user who removed the comment is not listed in the moderators list, is not even a kbin.social user, and did not remove a lemmy.ml comment. Yet, it was removed for me as a kbin.social user....
I checked out the modlog and the mod in question is actually an admin at lemmy.ml. still shouldn't be able to reach in and delete things here though. https://lemmy.ml/u/cypherpunks
https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/348
I posted it basically asking the same question as the title and linked here. Hopefully @ernest will be able to check it out and reword it if necessary.
A fellow mod informed me that about it as I was laying in bed. Reddit sent a message to the mod team and after 1 hour demoded me. I didn't even had time to see it, never-mind respond to it....
Obvious that this is automated and will be going out to all subs. They definitely wouldn't go to bat to keep a piracy sub open, unless they're even dumber than I thought.
Since rpis have been almost impossible to find, I've been looking around for alternatives for some local self hosted services like home assistant. A lot of boards seem to talk about GPU, GPIO pins, etc. But I really just want a single board, fanless (low power), decent CPU and RAM, ethernet....
The original /r/piracy was purposefully gimped because Reddit received DMCAs for any random thing and didn't even bother to follow up. Since we're in new waters, I want things to be a bit more relaxed, but there's a limit on how relaxed we can be, without starting to get lawsuits, which I will not be able to fight off. I also...
Something I've seen is encoding links and sending people to https://www.base64decode.org/. Whether that alleviates legal risk is questionable (unlikely?), but it does prevent scraping for keywords.
A certain stage of development has ended - a prototype was created that allowed me to verify whether such a form makes sense in the #fediverse. Until now, it was a project that I developed in my free time. Now, thanks to the great people from Nlnet, I will be able to devote much more time to it. This time, we have already...
They aren't visible from your profile. Only under the activity details of each comment. Someone would have to be really stalking you to keep track of all your upvotes.
