The Devil sometimes tries to do some landscape gardening. But things rarely work out as he wants.

@BeefGriller @Gullikerl @juergen_hubert @germany @folklore I have several "Devil" and "hell" places on Spooky Geology. It's hard to keep track of all the devilish places named on earth! https://spookygeology.com

First day home alone without #dogs in the house. It's slightly spooky. I used to be able to assign every weird noise to a dog. Now I can't do that. Luckily, the bunny still makes noise.

I still cannot realign my brain to having no dog responsibilities.

“They Were Everywhere” – Exploding Monkey and Pig Populations Pose Human Disease Risk (scitechdaily.com)

Rising numbers of wild pigs and macaque monkeys in Southeast Asia pose risks to native forests and could lead to disease spread among livestock and humans, reveals a study led by The University of Queensland. Dr. Matthew Luskin, affiliated with UQ's School of the Environment, alongside his team,

@readbeanicecream At first I was pretty terrified of the "exploding monkeys".

Then I read the next line.

Happy Saturday. Beware the Squonk. (If anyone who sees this currently lives, or has lived, in Pennsylvania: is this really a thing? Inquiring minds dearly want to know.)

@stina_marie @horror It's a common fun tale. Sadly, ugly cryptids don't make for the best merchandising opportunity.

@stina_marie @horror I’m interested in following the trend of cryptids as zoological ideas to more popular fun folklore ideas and marketable icons. Critters that used to be just fun stories, like the squonk, have now been labeled which is culturally interesting.

@stina_marie @horror Yes. It’s very much a folklore story, like the Hodag, hoop snake, and Jersey Devil.

Update on & sites. The Lemmy site has 252 subscribers. It's easy for me to post to @strangetimes and then cross post to Kbin @StrangeTimes which has 135 subscribers.
Please follow one if you like the links. I post them there first and you can discuss.

I'm still trying both #Kbin and #Lemmy for my Strange Times postboards. So far, Lemmy seems more engaging and has an RSS feed. I have the ability to cross-post. Kbin has the microblog thing but I'm not finding it very useful. Lemmy also ahead on apps though not for desktop. I'll eventually decide which one to focus on.
