You ever see a dog that’s got its leash tangled the long way round a table leg, and it just cannot grasp what the problem is or how to fix it? It can see all the components laid out in front of it, but it’s never going to make the connection....
Things that take place over too long a period of time. Like heart disease, injustice, climate change, diabetes, addiction etc. We’re evolved to prioritise short term pleasure over long term benefits, hence that cigarette, drink, line, burger is so difficult to say no to.
Recently stumbled across a thread where someone recommended the cool NeverTooManyBooks app for helping track one’s book collection, and was wondering if there might be similar for other media....
I rocked a Samsung Alias 2 for 4 years before I got an iPhone 5. The e-ink keyboard was awesome how it changed when you flipped the screen open to portrait or landscape.
A Samsung F400,it was a slider that slid up to reveal the number pad and down to reveal a speaker. Was great for music, don’t remember much more about it. Moved on to the Blackberry Bold after that as far as I remember.
Yeah took me forever to find mine, about 20 pages. Worth it for the nostalgia hit though. GSM arrange by age though so if you can guess when you got it that might narrow it down for you.

I see you’ve mentioned Zdoom, I"ve sank many hours into Brutal Doom (Extermination Day), Blade of Agony and Golden Doom. Found the Hakros Launcher recently which opened some doors (though not the most up to date, still a decent gateway).
I used Plex for my home media for almost a year, then it stopped playing nice for reasons I gave up on diagnosing. While looking at alternatives, I found Jellyfin which is much more responsive, IMO, and the UI is much nicer as well....

Finished SuperLiminal last night which I really enjoyed, really intuitive and flow inducing game that makes you think and has a nice message to it. Started Shadow Warrior 3 but I’m not sure it’s for me. Biggest recent ones have been Brutal Doom (Extermination Day) which is unbelievably good and Halls Of Torment (Vampires Survivors but like Diablo)
It’s a mood that adds mouselook. I don’t know about steam deck but it’s literally 3 downloads (gzDoom, Brutal Doom and Extermination Day) and a whole new campaign with new weapons. Really excellent.
To me, it seems objectively easier to pull into a parking space forward and then back out of the space when you are ready to leave. You don’t have to line up with the lines while driving backwards, and it’s easier to keep from hitting other cars as well. So why back in? To me, the only advantage I can think of is that you...
Was reminded how Epstien not killing himself was/is so accepted yet it’s still a conspiracy theory. Is there any similar ones you guys believe to be completely true ?
I have a entry level android phone from last year but still seem to have a hard time running lemmy apps. The ones I’ve tried will crash a few pages in and can’t keep my position cached when it’s not open. I don’t have these problems on Relay and the phone isn’t from 2015 so shouldn’t have issues running a simple web...
I’ve only just started but using Jerboa and it seems pretty decent. I used boost for reddit and am signed up to be notified of their Lemmy app as I was a big fan of that app but this will probably do until then.
