Would you be buried alive for 48hr for a million dollars?

You are buried in a coffin 6ft deep, with no light or cell phone. There is only a small tube connected to the coffin from outside that allows you to breathe (edit: you can breathe with no difficulty). After 48 hours, you are dug up and given 1 million dollars. Do you do it?...

Wabbitsmiles,

Would you have a countdown clock or a watch to indicate how much time left? I think that will mentally help me a ton.

Wabbitsmiles,

Yeah I think this is the deal breaker for me. At least with a clock there’s something that I can focus on other than my own thoughts.

Wabbitsmiles,

As a Singaporean, I’m shook that the system can be broken so seemingly easily.

As for a human being (myself) it is hard as it is to transfer my CPF (similar to a pension fund) for payments such as housing, medical, investments etc without having a million OTPs, gov app (Singpass) verifications etc.

All things considered, $100+K out of $10M is ~1%, is not much for scam amounts lost from CPF (pension).

Wabbitsmiles,

Too many. Pixel 6a here.

Wabbitsmiles,

Also, I didn’t want to splurge on expensive furniture, so I got cats instead,

Wabbitsmiles,

How are you liking it so far?

Wabbitsmiles,

I’m in your camp, and don’t want to look back.

I thought about these other strategies, edit comments, link to Lemmy/other fediverses, but it’s too much work for something I want to walk away from.

It’s as if breaking up with an ex for his/her toxic behaviour, and choosing to burn him/her even more, or just stfu and move on, I’m choosing the latter.

Mentally, I think it’s better for me, rather than carry this grudge passenger longer than it should.

Same for twitter, meta/fb. I’m fine with seeing posts as long as it’s ‘news’ and not being salty.

Wabbitsmiles,

Am still having a good weekend

Life nor Internet (Lemmy) has got me down yet

Wabbitsmiles, (edited )

It’s quite telling that by having a more ‘complicated’ sign up process and ‘how-things-work’ around here is able to keep idiots off the Fediverse (for now)

And I appreciate this, which means as a potential user I need to do my own background research, look around at different sources of information, lurk for a bit, before committing to a platform. And this in and of itself, for me at least, gives me a better appreciation of the ‘verse’ and how I can contribute to it.

From the article “The Fediverse is not that. It’s kind of… different. I mean, the very first thing you get asked when signing up for a Fediverse platform is “Which Instance?”. The signup process in the Fediverse is more complicated than people are used to.”

A counter example to this ‘barrier of entry’ would be threads. Super easy to join, making it almost ‘stupid’ not to join if you’re already on IG and using Twitter, without understanding what it offers besides simply being an alternative to threads (this is where I was at, could not outweigh the cons vs twitter, thus did not join)

Wabbitsmiles,

Just doing my part to test the system. See what clicks, maybe it’ll get better with my humble reply, one at a time

Wabbitsmiles,

Not sure what’s a dunce, but I guess I’m one too as I concur
