Judging by how much phones cost I expect them to be water resistant and have headphone jack. And besides, Fairphone said they removed it because it was a “point of failure” while conveniently releasing their own wireless headphones.
I think small bezels are really annoying. When you put a case that has a lip around the edges it’s really problematic when you need to tap something on the edges of the screen. Plus I keep accidentally touching screen when holding the phone.
On the one hand, it’s really fun to be able to stream 60gb 4k content through stremio/plex debrid, but on the other hand, if i choose to end my subscription, I don’t have anything to show for the money I spent till that time.
Where did you download JDownloader2 from? I tried to install that one real debrid recommends (the supposedly clean one) and my antivirus identified it as a threat and virustotal found 18 threats.
I’m honestly sick and tired of minimalism and less is more approach in software, so I appreciate them adding as much features as possible and I would love if some of these came to Firefox.
Christ, who cares if you use it or not, it’s a standard that’s been used for years. "Most people charge phones overnight, so why put bigger battery? " You’re paying thousand dollars for a phone and you don’t even get USB 3, and you’re expected to pay even more for a basic feature??
Because it’s convenient no matter who you are, everybody benefits from faster transfer speeds. Competition is using usb 3.2 and apple with it’s 160 billion dollars profit couldn’t? And it’s not like they are developing it from scratch. I don’t get it why can’t you keep multi billion dollar corporations up to a certain standard. This is 2023, not 2003.
Well yeah, it is finished. It has reached state where people can say “yes, this is finished” unlike star citizen. And there’s a fundamental difference between a store and a game that at some point reaches the finished state, again, unlike star citizen.
How come baldur’s gate 3 didn’t need 10 years and 600 million fan funding to reach a release?
I think it’s just the culmination of removing things from phones and increasing prices. We keep paying exorbitant prices and they keep cheaping out. Smartphones used to be one device for everything and now they are glorified cameras with internet where you need a heat gun to replace a freaking camera. So to me it feels insulting that they would remove a charger.
How many of those child protect acts has it been already? It gets rejected and they keep coming back. If I were a cynical man (as opposed to apple cheeked bunny rabbit of a boy) I’d say it doesn’t have anything to do with children.
Their games have gotten wide as the ocean and shallow as a puddle. The mechanics and quest design are so simplified and shallow. Skyrim and Fallout 4 are more like action games with some light RPG elements. As noted by the comment below, they’re chasing trends. Newer games can’t compare to options you have in New Vegas or even Morrowind.
I don’t know how it is in the US, but in my country Steam regional pricing doesn’t apply and the game can be about 5-7% of my paycheck for a AAA game (before “microtransactions” that is) which doesn’t seem like a lot at first, but it still seems like a lot in my mind.
I’m 100% positive that companies could accomplish waterproofing and replaceable batteries of they wanted to. It’s been done in the past, it can be done again. But people replacing whole phones instead of just the battery is too profitable.
No surprises here. Just like the lockdown on iPhone screen and part replacements, Macbooks suffer from the same Apple’s anti-repair and anti-consumer bullshit. Battery glued, ssd soldered in and can’t even swap parts with other official parts. 6000$ laptop and you don’t even own it.
If I want to comment on another insurance such as beehaw.org, do I need to create a different account or can I log in with one that I created on lemmy.ml?

Do you guys use realdebrid (and similar services) to download stuff, or to set it up to be able to stream directly without having to download anything?
