Aside from the useless features overkill, I still think SwiftKey is the best Android keyboard. I ignore 90% of the stuff they implement. Quite frankly I am almost unable to type quick without it.

Seit ich mal in einem Brief vom Finanzamt stehen hatte, dass sie offene Beträge unter drei Euro aus Kostengründen nicht einfordern würden, kann ich nicht aufhören darüber nachzudenken, dass mein Finanzamt wahrscheinlich fünf Euro von mir eintreiben würden, wenn ich die offen hätte.

I’ve recently rekindled my love for Katamari Damacy and it made me wonder if there’s any other amazing cult classics out there that aren’t talked about these days. What are your recommendations?
To latch on to this: the first Elex, a game by the same studio as the Gothic series, is, despite the average reception by critics, THE definition of a flawed masterpiece! So many things to criticize (too difficult early in the game, bad cut scenes, flawed combat) but the main focus of the game, the open world filled with tons of monster and people to interact with, is just great! I loved how exploration is encouraged and rewarded, how there are meaningful desicions and characters that can be killed off. The world is huge and all though the general atmosphere is post apocalyptic, the developer somehow managed to fit a middle age type fraction and a science fiction type (Clerics) fraction in to the game. Also smaller groups you can’t join.
Elex has a very special place in my gamer heart and all though I can’t flat out recommend it to everyone I would say if you have a soft spot for open world games that do not play like the average Ubi game and don’t hold your hand the whole time, I say: check it out, it’s pretty cheap in most places!
I know Outerworlds wasn’t received as well as was expected but I honestly really liked it a lot! The companions were interesting and I liked doing their quests, the world and the general ironic tone of it all made me enjoy spending time there. I mean, the gunplay certainly isn’t as good as, say, Borderlands and if looter shooter aren’t your thing, this won’t change anyone’s mind. And yet, I had fun with it and I do hope for a more refined second installment!

Wahrscheinlich nur mittelmäßig pädagogisch wertvoll: Tablet oder altes Handy mit heruntergeladenen Netflix Folgen. Irgendwann ist Nummernschilder raten oder ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst oder (meine Tochter ist fast acht) Wahrheit oder Pflicht einfach nicht mehr genug und dann ist das das Mittel der Wahl, um für alle die Fahrt erträglich zu gestalten. Mein echter Tipp ist aber: wann immer möglich den Zug zu nehmen! Trotz Verspätungen und umsteigen ist es einfach entspannter, wenn man sich zwischen drin bewegen kann und nicht stundenlang miteinander auf vier Quadratmeter eingepfercht zu sein. Im ICE gibt's auch meistens kleine Spielsachen für Kinder im Boardbistro.
Kommt aufs alter an, was man die Kinder spielen lässt, klar. Mein Kind darf gewisse Switch Spiele spielen: Mario Odyssee, Fenyx, Rayman; wie gesagt, pädagogisch tendenziell eher verpönt sowas, weiß ich aber ich bin selbst Pädagoge und halte daher nichts von ständigem verbieten solcher Sachen. Alles in maßen und nicht Massen.
Jerboa is performing amazingly after the mass influx of users on DDay and the update to my primary instance lemmy.world brought it’s own challenges. I was app surfing recently, bouncing between about 5 of them… But Jerboa has been rock solid through this tough time and stood out from the rest. Hats off
I love how pretty much each and every comment section on posts about apps to access the Fediverse will always end up with people declaring their favorite app of the day! I mean this sincerely, because of that I kinda feel connected to most of you! It means we all are in some sort of griefing stage because most of us lost a reddit app we used for years (a decade even in my case. Rip RIF!). It also means most of you are hopeless nerds and I really appreciate that!

PS: my favorite way of accessing the Fediverse is currently Wefwef but I still check out every new app I come across.
Also, ich nehme auch seit gestern immer mal wieder Wefwef und hab auch manchmal so Fehlermeldungen. Evtl einfach später noch mal probieren? Ich hatte ein bisschen gefrickel mit der Lemmy. World Instanz. Rote Meldung am unteren Screenrand aber ging dann doch. Einfach dran bleiben, wäre daher mein Tipp. Alles in allem ist nämlich Wefwef irgendwie bislang die beste Möglichkeit mMn im Fediverse zu surfen. Knapper zweiter Platz: Liftoff. Auch schön übersichtlich.
Es ist Mitternacht und passend zum Monatswechsel habe ich alle meine Kommentare editiert, gelöscht und meinen Account entfernt. Nun war es nicht ganz so dramatisch, da ich meinen Hauptaccount bereits vor einem Jahr gelöscht hatte. Dennoch fühlt es sich so an, als ließe man etwas zurück....
Ich habe mich in den ganzen Jahren eigentlich hauptsächlich in Nischencommunities aufgehalten oder in hervorragend moderierten wie r/Patientgamer. Nur wenn ich manchmal beim gedankenlosen umherklicken in Memesubs geraten bin, ist mir oft erst wieder aufgefallen, wie toxisch Reddit doch sein konnte. Und alle (seltenen, schwöre!) Besuche seit dem Blackout haben mir gezeigt, dass auf lange Sicht eher die toxischen User und Subs vorherrschend sein werden. Selbst in den Nischen gab's vermehrt ätzende Egozentriger der Marke: "I use Reddit only with the official app and have no problems, so don't bother me with your shity protest!" Das wird vermehrt zunehmen. sad emoji
Begründung ist wohl der hohe Moderationsaufwand bei Föderationen mit Instanzen mit offener Anmeldung. Ich weiß nicht was ich davon halten soll, als beehaw-User würde es mich auf jeden Fall glaube ich ziemlich nerven und mich dazu bewegen, mich stattdessen auf lemmy.world oder sh.itjust.works zu registrieren. As much as I like browsing the Fediverse with Liftoff, RIF was just such a refined app. At the end RIF was what Reddit could have been.
