Ich denke hier kann man allerdings nicht von Kausalität sprechen. Die Naheliegendere Erklärung ist dass Studenten denen das Fach liegt und die gut hinterherkommen eher an Seminaren teilnehmen als Studenten die sowieso kein Bock auf das Thema haben.

Hier ist eine dritte Variable “Wie viel Bock hat der Student auf das Fach” die beide Datenreihen beeinflusst.

EDIT: generell sind die Daten schon ziemlich außergewöhnlich. Glaub in meinen Jahren an der Uni hab ich kein Modul gehabt in dem nicht mindestens einer der in jedem Seminar war hart reingeschmissen hat. Und jemand der nie da ist und trotzdem ne extrem gute Note bekommt (gerade das zweite passi eigentlich ziemlich häufig).

So eine Verteilung wie hier hat man für gewöhnlich in den Fächern die einem so esoterischen Müll beibringen wo der Prof einer von vielleicht acht Menschen auf der Welt ist die überhaupt Ahnung von dem Thema haben. Oder kurz: Module wo sämtliche Infos zum Thema aus der Vorlesung kommen und außerhalb dieser einfach nicht existieren

Klingt irgendwie so als ob Firmware Entwicklung was für dich wäre? Entweder das oder Embedded Entwicklung.

Wobei man da nicht wirklich konkret mit Linux zu tun hat, man hat eher mit C zu tun und ab und zu interagiert man dann mit dem Linux kernel. Aber die meisten Berufe in denen man mit C entwickelt sind eher Linux-seitig angesiedelt.

Tatsächlich habe ich bei meiner Firma einen Anstoß in die Richtung machen können. Wir benutzen das FFI um aus unserer C Codebase heraus Rust Funktionen aufzurufen. Ist super praktisch bei high-level Dingen, also parsing uns sowas.

Aber im Herzen sind wir alle C

Edit: und good luck eine Firma zu finden die Rust Entwickler sucht lol. Die Erfolgschancen stehen besser in eine C Firma zu gehen und dann Rust dort einzuführen

Ex falso quodlibet. Start with any false statement and you can coherently and logically reason anything from it. That doesn’t make these conclusions correct… (the implication would be technically correct, but that’s not the same as the conclusion being correct).

So arguing they’re not stupid because they can logically reason is kind of stupid in itself, because these people still believe wrong facts to be true

What non-FOSS software are you using that you wish you could replace?

For me its honestly a ton of my work software (digital forensics), shit is too niche to be replaced by good FOSS options. Cellebrite, Magnet Axiom, etc. Autopsy is great and free and has a linux version but it simply cannot get the same level of data without a pretty nutty level of custom code....

OneNote on my foldable laptop. I use it to take notes in uni simply because it’s the best option out of all the ones I’ve tried. I like OneNote’s stabilization and infinite canvas. What annoys me tho is that you cannot set the canvas to paged, so if you’re planning on exporting to pdf you have no idea where the page boundaries are.

With the last Windows 11 update they fucked it up tho and now the app is garbage anyways

I’ll give that a shot! OneNote is literally unusable since the last Windows update because the on-screen keyboard keeps popping up everytime I touch the screen. then it goes away immediately and leaves a bugged white rectangle on the canvas

still using things like Google Chrome or Chromebooks in 2023 is actually reckless behaviour. stuff like manifest v3 and the web integrity api just prove that google will use their monopoly to take over the open internet

I wouldn’t exchange my neovim config for anything. After getting used to how vim works and installing all the plugins I need, I feel like this is my favourite editor. It looks nice and I enjoy using keyboard shortcuts over using a mouse.

That said, the day I lose my neovim config is the day I die. If it disappears I’m doomed

For several years I had them named after the planets, which worked well until the PCs for myself, my girlfriend, servers and Raspberry Pi’s quickly summed up to more than the eight planets. Wow, that is a cherry-picked example if I’ve ever seen one. The Rothschilds are mentioned exactly once on this page and it’s in this sentence:
