We are not allowing memes to be posted still, just inside this post itself as comments to hopefully avoid removing meme posts. We have had to remove multiple meme posts since the controversy began, hoping to alleviate that.
Hey @breadsmasher, not sure which spam you are referring to, but I am one of the mods of !technology and we do our best to remove any spam we see or that is reported.
That being said, there have been times when articles get posted that people report as “spam” that we do not deem to be. If you could provide an example of one we have not removed, I will review it with the other mod and figure out why we did not remove the post/comment - but typically this happens because of the above.
Oh gotcha, it is unfortunate non-mods/non-admins are not able to see in the mod logs for who is doing what on LW. If you were able to though, you would see Enu and myself are very active, even though we are not commenting or posting. Same for report resolutions, we get a good amount of reports (false and positive) that we have to weed through throughout the day, those are not publicly viewable (and shouldn’t be).
But that is what I did not get, in the mod logs you can see the community is being actively moderated even though you can’t see who is doing what.
Edit:
enu is the only inactive mod I found.
Also, I’d like to apologize for misreading the above. Initially I thought this said “is the only active mod”. Enu has multiple accounts, which would make sense on why you’d think they’re inactive
Full-time UPS drivers will earn an average of $170,000 in annual pay and benefits at the end of a five-year contract agreement, UPS CEO Carol Tomé said during an earnings call Tuesday.
The Top Rate shall be $35.94 plus the general wage increases provided in Section 1 above.
Increases are:
2023 two dollars and seventy-five cents ($2.75)
2024 seventy-five cents ($0.75)
2025 seventy-five cents ($0.75)
2026 one dollar ($1.00)
2027 two dollars and twenty-five cents ($2.25)
So that means in 2027, it’ll be $43.44/hour, which at 40 hours a week comes to $90,355.20/year. To reach $170k/year, they’d have to work 75.26 hours a week, I know drivers do a lot of OT, but I’m not sure about that much!
Edit: To put more perspective on this, 170k/year at 40 hours is $81.73/hour, not too far from double their $43.44/hour
My wife and I have had the Z-Fold3’s for a while now. Both of us have dropped it many times while open and folded. So far, there are no issues except for the screen protector adhesive one mentioned above.
My son(2.5) threw my wife’s across the room(hard flooring), and the phone was totally fine. In my experience, they’re not as fragile as most people think.
It’s probably something he’s already checked, but the screen protector ends up coming off inside the crease after a while. Have had to replace mine and my wife’s twice so far, but it’s an easy fix.
I haven’t shopped for a new phone for a while but I have to admit I’m eyeing the new foldables from an accessibility standpoint. I really miss the mechanical keyboards that used to be available on every phone. In the absence of that, I’d love to have the option of a full-screen keyboard on one side and still being able to...
Been rocking a Z-Fold 3 since it came out and love it, came from a Pixel 3xl. IMO the way Samsung polishes the Android OS makes it superior, and having the ability to fold out to a tablet at any time is awesome.
Will most likely upgrade to the 5 once it comes out, pretty excited to see this!

Some people seem to really enjoy the articles posted by the content bot, but others seem to think that the bot post too many articles and clog up their RSS feeds. Come give us your opinion in the straw poll.
Here on !technology you shouldn’t see posts from @L4s with that checked, and any other bot that is marked properly.
If you come across bots not marked so in any Lemmy.World community, please report it as it goes against the latest rules of this instance, we can involve the admins and ask them to intervene.
As some may have noticed, a fairly large portion of the post on this community are article links posted by bots. I am no moderator and am just a regular user like the rest of you, but I want to know what the community thinks of the posting bots. here is a sample of my opinion to get conversation started:...
Just wanted to let you know incase you are not aware, you can uncheck “show bot accounts” under settings, as long as the bot is marked appropriately you will no longer see bot posts.
We are listening to the input here, and will have a discussion around the topic.
Such as the most populated, most active, or most secluded if that’s what you like. It’s a good thing OP, we are not locked down to one community in the event that one goes crazy.
A hippo has attacked a 2-year-old boy in Uganda, swallowing half of his body before spitting him out, a statement from the Uganda Police Force said on Friday.
The child was attacked on December 4 at around 3 p.m. local time (7 a.m. ET) in the Katwe-Kabatoro district, in the southwest of the country, according to the statement.
The boy, named by Ugandan police as Iga Paul, had been playing at his home in Rwenjubu cell, Lake Katwe.
“It took the bravery of a one Chrispas Bagonza, who was nearby, to save the victim after he stoned the hippo and scared it, causing it to release the victim from its mouth,” a spokesperson for Uganda Police Force said in the statement.
The boy was taken to a nearby clinic for injuries on one hand and later transferred to Bwera Hospital, west Uganda, for further treatment, the statement added.
The child has now been discharged after making a full recovery, police said. He also received a vaccine for rabies, before being handed back to his parents by the police.
“Although the hippo was scared back into the lake, all residents near animal sanctuaries and habitats should know that wild animals are very dangerous,” the statement said.
“Instinctually, wild animals see humans as a threat and any interaction can cause them to act strangely or aggressively.”
Known as one of the most dangerous animals on the planet, hippos can snap a canoe in half with their strong jaws, according to National Geographic.
