Klystron, to cat in Jack Bleps

A solid standard issue cat. Mine says hello

Klystron, to nostupidquestions in What android phones do you recommend and why?

I’ve bought Samsung for the past 5 years now and have never had an issue with bloat if you buy from Samsung. If you’re buying it from a carrier then yeah there’s probably a ton of crap preloaded. Imo Samsung just offers too much of a complete package to pass up. Pixel is good but hardware leaves some to be desired. The cute software quirks just don’t make it up for me.

Klystron, to games in Risk of Rain Returns drops onto Steam and Nintendo Switch on November 8th, 2023

So it’s like a remake of the first one? What’s been changed?

Klystron, to technology in Youtube's Anti-adblock is illegal in the EU

Every tech article I read nowadays I feel like has the appendix, “which is illegal in the EU.” Lol

Klystron, to piracy in The New York Times tried to block the Internet Archive: another reason to value the latter

Wow, based. It looks like her documentary is good too, I’ll check it out.

Klystron, to games in Persona 3 Reload — Iwatodai Dorm Life | Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC

Pretty hyped, even if it’s mostly just for nostalgia. Even though most people agree it’s 5 > 4 > 3, there’s just something about 3 that strikes a chord with me. Probably because it’s edgy af and I played it when I was an edgy teen but also the music is the best in the series imo

Klystron, (edited ) to memes in It's coming.

It’s, “Objects in mirror MAY be closer than they appear,” dammit!

I’m not crazy, you’re crazy!

Klystron, to memes in In the US, there's a good chance you haven't even left your state either

I’d say the 2 1/2 hour commute is pretty unheard of. I’ve never heard of it before. That sounds like hell. My boss’s is 90 mins and he’s always complaining.

Klystron, to memes in Urban Warfare

It’s pretty clean. I moved here a few years ago and have never gotten the feeling that it’s dirty. Around the homeless camps though it can be a little rough though.

Klystron, (edited ) to moviesandtv in Is It Still Worth Going to the Movies?

Yeah I’m not an av fanatic so I could really care less about the Dolby Atmos plus extreme ultra©️ speakers nor how big the screen is or if it’s on film or whatever. I saw Oppenheimer at an IMAX theater with film or whatever because I kept hearing it was the correct way to watch it or whatever and it was basically the same as every other movie I’ve seen. And for the audience I purposefully go during matinees on a weekday so I don’t have to hear other people talking, digging in their popcorn, seeing their phones go off, or laughing way too hard at something for way too long. The only reason I still go to theaters is because I like seeing things when they come out and sometimes I just want a slushee and some bunch a crunch.

Klystron, to asklemmy in What app you americans use for personal conversations?

The problem in the US is that the iPhone has a huge amount of the market and iMessage mostly does that already. For Android to counter that you have to use a 3rd party app, which further fractures an already smaller market. Or everyone could just use sms which is free with basically every plan nowadays, which gets you by.

Klystron, to europe in Where Vacation Days Are Over & Underused

Very interesting. I was in the military, which was pretty much a smorgasbord of the US and not once did I ever hear of anyone burning their time off. Every boss I worked for begged us to take all of our time off.

Klystron, to android in Why the Pixel 8's Face Unlock upgrade is a big deal

Cool to see they managed to incorporate it. I like the idea of face unlock but for me it’s not convenient enough. Hard to use like if I’m sitting at my desk and phones sitting on top, I need to hover my face over it awkwardly until it sees me, and if I’m laying in bed or on the couch, it won’t recognize me either. I’ll always be loyal to the trusty fingerprint reader.

Klystron, (edited ) to android in The Odin 2 is Here, and it Deserves the Hype (YouTube)

Well, it’s marketed as an emulation machine, not a steam deck killer. In the niche it’s aiming for, it’s a pretty knock out device.
