I don’t blame Oprah for Jenny because they aren’t pretending she’s a Doctor as they promote her crack pot ideas. I’m smart enough to not take my medical advice from former Playmates. I can’t help it if the unintelligent masses do.
I don’t agree that it’s victim blaming. We are all responsible for our own health. We need to do more than just listen to what a few people on television say. Everyone should do their work and if they don’t, they need to accept some responsibility.
Maybe the point is that humans are not actively planning, communicating, and altering our environment in a positive way to be able to handle the population increase.
My issue was needing to kill bears as I was going after the bear poachers that hurt Bearfa in the quest. Dammit that makes me no better than the poachers.
Was there even a mass exodus? I largely avoid Reddit now, but I do kind of doubt that they’ve been hurt in any meaningful way by all the protests and people leaving…
Only evidence I have is:
any day of week 1 of using Lemmy I had about 1 page of new stories on my subscribed communities any day of week 2 of using Lemmy I had about 2 pages of new stories on my communities any day of week 3 (this week) I’m at least 4 pages in and still haven’t hit on the old stories
I didn’t come to a new service just to see it get taken over by the corporate beasts who ruined the internet in general, and I am sure as hell am not going to use an instance that doesn’t care about its users....
It'll take a while for the volume to trickle down to the smaller more niche communities, but I have already seen the volume increase tremendously in the large ones. Let's enjoy the ride.
There has to be a solution that would have allowed them to send a buoy up to transmit a mayday and coordinates like some life boats do. This would help the rescue teams to narrow the search grid. I wouldn’t have gone down in that thing, but if I WAS, I would at least feel better with something like that.
I was watching a documentary where they were talking about a void within the great pyramid and how we don’t know what’s inside it! How come we haven’t we been in and had a nose around?
TIL researchers reviewed 40 episodes of the "Dr. Oz Show" and discovered that almost half of the medical advice had no supporting evidence (www.reliasmedia.com)

Considering this was a spur of the moment snap from the car, and with my phone, I’m happy how it turned out.
Is there any evidence that Reddit has suffered at all from the exodus to Lemmy?

If Lemmy.world doesn't defederate from Threads, Meta and all things Zuck within 24 hours, I will shut down my subs and leave.

Why is it so hard to find the lost Titanic tourism submarine?
(inspired by a question on reddit, I’ll post a reply too)
ELI5: Why haven’t we fully explored the pyramids yet?
