I can imagine being desperate to hit it big, but at least but a lottery ticket or something. That way, the school system (or whatever) gets a few bucks, instead of the fucking Trumps.
As far as I’m concerned, the presence of commercial “breaks” makes a movie unwatchable. A good writer, director, or editor carefully manages things like pace, timing, and emotional impact. Interrupting that with an ad for car insurance completely destroys the mood, and cheapens the entire experience. I don’t care if commercials are “limited”. They shouldn’t be there at all.
I only tolerate commercials if I’ve already seen a movie a million times, and I’m only half paying attention anyway.
Most of what happens in the world would happen regardless of whether I existed or not, so even while I’m alive, the impact of my existence is negligible. I don’t believe in an afterlife, so I won’t know or care when I’m gone, either. It seems futile to waste any of my short life worrying about the inevitable.
Not good. Cultish behavior is for extremists. When you lose the ability to laugh at yourself, it’s a sign that you’ve lot the ability to criticize and evaluate yourself honestly.
