This is like Godzilla and Mothra arguing about who should pay to rebuild downtown Tokyo after one of their brawls. Meanwhile, the citizens don’t care who pick up the tab. They just want it done.
Never apologize for encouraging accuracy, especially on the internet!
Besides, any wet blanket tendencies are more than made up for by that absurd picture of Tate on the page you linked to. Also, I had forgotten about the “small dick energy” thing. Thanks for the laughs!
I know this is kind of shitty of me, but at first, I didn’t care much. “Tragedies happen every day, and they knew what they were getting in to,” I thought.
If anyone has withstood this ordeal for so long, though, they deserve to survive. If this is true, I hope at least one person is rescued.
Russia has been conducting this war for over a year, and they’ve still only managed to capture “1/4” of the country. Keep in mind that Ukraine is a much smaller neighbor that’s right on their border. Russia’s ineptitude is pathetic.
“Every counterattack failing”? Thousands of Russian soldiers would disagree… if they weren’t too dead to talk.
“Lemmy Overseer “ is a creepy, ominous name. It sounds like the job title of some super strict, rules-obsessed, joyless office drone who works for the feds or a large corporation.
I’m a little irritated that the government didn’t step in and declare a standard before EV charging stations were built in the US. Charging stations are expensive, and they’re going to become increasingly important infrastructure. We want people to buy electric cars, but now the early adopters who didn’t buy a Tesla are being punished. This was NOT the time to adopt a “let the market decide” attitude.
“Transphobic” is used a variety of ways, and means different things to different people. What exactly do you mean? For example, are they actively hateful, or just freaked out? Is it religious bias?
I imagine they wouldn’t be your best friend if they were a terrible person, so things may not be as bad as they seem. Perhaps it would only take some genuine listening and nonjudgmental education to solve this problem. If handled carefully and respectfully, this could be a great opportunity to change someone’s outlook in a positive way.
Huffman said he saw Musk’s handling of Twitter, which Musk purchased last year, as an example for Reddit to follow.
Is this man mentally ill? Is he deliberately trying to get himself fired?
A big reason Musk has gotten away with things so far is because he spent years making himself famous. He’s also among the richest people in America. Even if they don’t like him, people will cut him some slack (up to a point) because he’s Elon Fucking Musk.
It’s even his name is in the title of this article, because nobody knows or cares who Steve Huffman is. Until you get into the article itself, Huffman is referred to as “Reddit CEO”.
Of course, if you do choose to go all in with them, you won’t see that side of Apple at all. They are frighteningly good at cultivating their image as the “good guys” among Big Tech, and, honestly, it’s not unwarranted. They are good at what they do, and they do take care of their users. Their tech is great.
This paragraph perfectly describes me. Way back, I was a blind Apple fanboy. In my eyes, they could do no wrong. Plus, I enjoyed rooting for the underdog, because back then people were constantly publishing stories about how Apple was doomed to go bankrupt any minute.
Later, I learned how terrible they are in many ways… but I still use their stuff. I first learned how to use computers on a Mac, so any other OS is weird and unintuitive to me. Besides, it just works, literally right out of the box. Yeah, Apple is still overpriced, but it’s not as bad as it seems. If you enjoy spending hours tinkering, and you don’t consider that time a “cost”, then okay. On the other hand, If you’re like me, part of what you’re paying for is quality design and convenience. I used to be much more technically minded, so I get it, but those days are behind me.
That being said, I’m still bothered by their terrible business practices, and can’t wholly disagree with people strongly opposed to Apple.
