Who knew the Gorn and Xindi-Aquatics could be such good friends?

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Sorry. We only got glorious gowron eyes, attention bajoran workers, and whatever picard/data/laforge says. Any other template is blasphemy and you will be sent to Rura Penthe.

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Gowron, yes!

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

No! Even if you did create it, it is a repost! Us romulans made and posted it first!!! -Commander Tomalak, Romulan Liar Personally Acclaimed Speaker of Truth.

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Or that Seasons 3 and 4 and 5 were a terrifyingly large Holodeck Program run by Tom Paris to see what would happen if the U.S.S. Discovery arrived in the 32nd century and that the U.S.S. Discovery was teleported back to the times of the Iconians?

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Feel that way sometimes, although I usually don’t care if it is a good story.

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Yeah, I am very much looking foward to it too. A lot of people are doubting this episode but I think it will turn out just fine.

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Wonder if they’re talking to each other, like: “Hey, after we’re done with this want to go to Quarks?” “Nah, I ran out of- ah!” “What is it?” “The panel accidentally fell off. Damn Cardies.”

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Fingers crossed Pelia doesn’t get that treatment…

I mean, there could be something to say about that, like the name of the ship IU being named after an alien race’s/human important figure (like a Tellarite Kelcie Mae scientist) or a captain of an influential starship. But yeah I agree OOU naming a ship after a person is annoying.

Edit: IU is in universe, OOU is Out of Universe.

Edit: I just learned it was named in memory after a huge Star Trek fan who was working on SNW named Kelcie May Sundquist. Rest in Peace.

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

I’d barely call this an article, more like an “restatement of everything known” with some extra emphasis on the ship. But eh, it’s very likely we could see this again in the next two episode (especially the finale) or in Season 3 (or Lower Decks, for that matter) to give us more of a clue then.

Which particular episode(s) of Star Trek do you find yourself going back to?

Just interested if there’s an episode of a particular series you find yourself going back to? Not necessarily “the best” or your favorite, just one you gravitate toward for a comfort re-watch? Here’s the episodes from each series I find myself re-watching a lot:...

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Any Romulan or Vulcan-centric episodes, especially TOS ones. I just like pointy ears, I guess? Edit: changed Romulan episodes to Romulan and Vulcan episodes.

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Agreed. I love Balance of Terror.

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

Looks to be an episode centered on M’Benga, Ortegas, and Chapel’s times in the Klingon War. As the Vulcans would say, Fascinating. I really like the idea of the Klingon War and want to see more of it. Maybe this also could help explain the Klingon changes in-universe.

Anyone else out there who actually really loved Discovery's S1 style of Klingons?

I am the kind of person who enjoys “big weird” scifi like Stanisław Lem. Stories about trying to relate to and find common ground with something so alien that the prospect of even understanding is basically hopeless. Star Trek usually doesn’t do stories that, which makes sense as it often uses alien races as allegories or...

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

The Bird of Prey design looks… imposing. The Armor, despite being very impractical, looks good. The Alien Race is well-designed, but it’s not what I would think Klingon would be. But yeah I kind of like how they’re portrayed, as a serious threat instead of some goofy alcohol-addicted space Vikings with a kind-of interesting way of life.

GaiusGornicusCaesar,

One of the best if not the best TOS Episodes, and that’s saying something. Although I did feel like the pacing was a little off near the end.

The episode was really good. I like the appearance of the Orion Scout Ship we see in “Journey to Babel”, one of my favorite ships. It may raise some slight continuity errors, but who cares. Nice ship, nice episode, nice show. Probably one of the best episodes of Trek I’ve seen.
