So I moved away from Kbin.social. When I try to come back to magazines here, I get that message. And all the content is a week+ old and the subscriber counts are completely different....

Ah ok thanks I understand now. Unfortunately there is no zero-click solution that I know of. The only thing I can offer is the one-click burger menu solution.
I'm putting together a wishlist so I'll add it there :)
This is the way that Reddit and Hacker News function. When browsing the feed on those sites I middle click the post and the comments link to open both up in new tabs but on kbin both links open the same page.
Some examples shown below get automatically generated via the standard formatting menu above the text boxes, but I have included them anyway for completeness....
Sounds super cosy! Do you tend to read relaxing books? There are so many thrillers and exciting page turners which are great but I'd like to read something very calming, if such a thing exists.
I am torn. Lemmy feels slimmer and easier to use with a wider variety of apps. Kbin has an advantage of being an "all-in-one" solution for the Fediverse with a better UI....
I've been thinking a lot about why I decided to come here and I know it started off as a "they can't make me use their shitty app!" while simultaneously using test apps that crash and navigating less content than Reddit. What is the primary motivation for all of this anymore? Is anger enough of a motivation to keep people away...
Currently, on the main instance, people have created 40191 accounts (+214 marked as deleted). I don't know how many are active because I don't monitor it, but once again, I greet all of you here :) In recent days, the traffic on the website has been overwhelming. It's definitely too much for the basic docker-compose setup,...
Hi, just a guess but I think for whatever reason content isn't being pulled to kbin directly from that domain, because when you go to https://kbin.social/d/thegarden.land it only shows threads posted there by users of other domains. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it eventually pulls through.
I don't mind at all - thank you for putting down so many great questions!
I have made an effort to answer some of your questions in the OP after numerous edits! I know there are still some missing but I'll get there eventually!
In the meantime please let me know if the answers are difficult to follow, or if you've thought of any more questions. Thanks in advance :)
How to see a list of all the magazines you are subscribed to:
Select your username in the top right, choose 'Settings' (or 'Profile') from the dropdown, and (on mobile) scroll to the right on the horizontal menu and select 'subscriptions'.
Select the burger menu icon (three horizontal lines in the top left corner), tap the triangular icon, and in the 'FEDERATION' section toggle the status 'Yes' or 'No' to enable or disable.
Personally I'm not here for a slick interface and lightning fast performance. Those things can be fixed. I'm here for the community -- that's something Reddit doesn't have, and can never be fixed.
What's your preferred portable dry herb vaporizer?
I am looking to get one to get away from my pen vape. Priority is health, so a clean “bake” with no plastics involved would be nice.

If Reddit phased out 3rd party apps gradually and tactfully, do you think this would have gone the way it has? The Reddit app is terrible, but is it any worse than navigating and learning the fediverse so far? Be honest. (kbin.social)

Apologies if this is obvious or already a feature (or if I'm doing this wrong, it's my first post), but is there a way to create supermagazines?...

A lot subreddits end their blackout tomorrow. Will you go back to Reddit, or continue with kbin and the Fediverse? (kbin.social)
