Flyingostrich,

I can absolutely see magic not being able to correct genetic or congenital conditions. It can make sense for developmental delays aswell. But something like missing a limb from a traumatic injurie or blindness due to macular degeneration… There is no reason a mid level adventurer or powerfull character would not just use magic to heal or fix it.

Maybe an injurie by a powerful lich, or since kinda of cursed weapon that makes it impossible to fully heal with anything short of a wish spell…

Poor people on the other hand, should absolutely have debilitating injuries and disabilities that will never be fully fixed due to magic being expensive.

Flyingostrich,

It’s so easy for people on the internet that have never lived thrugh real difficulties to spout rhetoric. Russia is absolutely in the wrong. That doesn’t mean that the people living in his Russia and his army are doing anything other then trying to survive. Some are monsters. Most are just people and are products of their environment. Just like you.

It’s easy to be righteous on the internet.

Am a medic. Had a similar call, but dude ended up having a rare tumor on his pancreas called and insulinoma. They produce and hold a bunch of insulin and can occasionally rupture and flood your system with insulin. Ofcourse we didn’t Know he had one at the time.

We had a non Diabetic PT that we found with a glucose that just read low. So 30< with our glucometers. Dumped 100 of d20 into him with absolutely no changes. Ended up infusing 4 more bags of d20 into him during transport. Got him up to like 80 and then watched him become unresponsive again 5 min later. Checked again and found it to be back to 40. He was in a room a few min later. Normally Im glad we don’t cary d50 anymore that shit was like using a sledge hammer to hammer in a tack nail. But this was the one time d20 wasn’t cutting it.

Anyways, glad you are alive. Shit can be scary.

Flyingostrich,

This realy is the key point imo.

There are people out there that can give a 100k+ gift to their partner other.

According to Google there are about 1.3 million households that make over 500k a year in the United States. That’s not a big number compare to the total population but it’s a big number.

Those families and many others are able to afford something like that if they want too. Notice the homes in those commercials are always very nice aswell. If you cant afford that, then you are simply not the target audience.

I know i sure as hell can’t.

Flyingostrich,

It’s a sport from the game final fantasy 10. It’s kindof like handball or soccer but played 100% underwater. Not possible in real life but fun in a fantasy video game.

The sport is played in a giant water sphere.

Flyingostrich,

You joke, but that’s kindof a thing.

The occipital lobe is responsible for us being able to proccess and turn the info our eyes gather into what we see. Severely damaging is can make us be unable to process the info our eyes collect and be effectively blind. Even though there is nothing wrong with our eyes.

You can have a stroke in your occipital lobe and just wake up blind. Or get hit in the back of your head and lose your vision.

Basicly forget how to see.

Gen Z, please talk to me: what management works and what does not?

I am an Xer who manages a small but crucial team at my workplace (in an EU country). I had a lady resign last week, and I have another who may be about to resign or I may have to let go due to low engagement. They are both Gen Z. Today it hit me: the five years I’ve been managing this department, the only people I’ve lost...

Flyingostrich,

I’m as loyal to my company as they are to me.

If big boss is cranky that day, I might get fired. If I make A mistake I might get fired. I am payed as little as they think they can get away with. My benefits are the vert least they can give me.

They will do very very minimum they can. Make no investments in me that are not going to be immediately beneficial to them…

I get payed pretty well concidering everything. But I Know that I am just a name in a spreadsheet to these people. If I get in a car accident and can’t work for a few months, the company and management will not care. They will just be annoyed that they have to struggle to fill my shift.

Why in the world would I have any loyalty to an organization like that. Why would I have any loyalty to management like that.

Flyingostrich,

“Virtually no one I know carried around multiple batteries or needed more storage”

Removable batteries are less about being able to Cary multiple and more about being able to swap them out with ease when they go bad. People that keep their phones for longer then a year or two will notice the decrease in battery life that can only be fixed with a new battery.

Phone storage has improved a lot and I kindof agree with you on this one, though having the option would still be nice. I also often used them for rooting phones and flashing an OS. That’s edge case though.

Bluetooth costs more and is another thing that you need to charge. I’m so tired of needing to charge everything.

Flyingostrich,

Yo u are not the only one. I realy enjoy final fantasy games and I like real time combat. I do not like final fantasy games with real time combat.

I have not played the new one fuzzy came out recently, but tried the demo. I was not impressed. And I realy wanted to be…

Imo they have been going downhill since 10. They all have their moments and their appeal, but they are not as good anymore.

Flyingostrich,

Paramedic. A lot of people would die at home or on the streets. Many hospitals would be overwhelmed with patients that can’t leave. Nursing homes would have to actualy take care of and treat people for once. Drunk collage kids will be allowed to go home peacefully. Police will not be able to pass off uncooperative people to hospitals for a psych evaluation as easy.

For real though, it would not be fun for the world.

Would be nice if we where treated and paid like we matter.

If it’s just paramedics and not EMTs then it won’t be as bad. People will still die though.

Flyingostrich,

Purged my main account by editing every post and reply. Then deleated all of them. Then deleated the account. . There are bots to do that automatically and make it easy.

I still have a NSFW account that Is exclusively used for NSFW stuff. I kept that one, but honestly that will probably be gone soon too. The vast majority of NSFW subreddits just feel like a bunch of only fans actors trying to self promote. Nothing against them or onlyfans, but I have no interest in it and would rather see stuff from people that are just having some fun. Not trying to make a living doing it.
