When I was a kid, I always had this weird recurring hallucination where I would be transported in front of a wooden door. In this weird state, I am still somewhat aware of my surroundings since I know where I am in reality and I still can hear the muffled voices of the people around me but time would dilate as if I was in slow motion and my vision would gradually zoom towards the door knob . So slow in fact, that I would usually snap out of it before reaching it, but sometimes I would and the door would open itself, revealing some kind of library full of bookshelves. In it’s center, lies floating above the brown floor, a giant spinning hourglass. Afterwards, I always felt a strange dizziness that made the world around me rotate.
I tried to play every famous indie game I heard about . From undertale to terraria to stardew Valley to hollow knight and fnaf. I never played any of them more than 20 minutes and yet I recently played and almost completed an extremely boring and tedious flipphone rpg. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
Sims 2 castaway ? I have more than 1000 flip phone games installed on my Android phone. It’s like 2 gigs only. I’d rather play these games than most Android garbage games and there are a lot of genuine gems despite the archaic controls.

I didn’t know Mondalore and sseth were dating. I discovered sseth through comments under some Mondalore videos and while I occasionally watch and enjoy his videos, his use of memes is a bit too much for me and tbh even civvie is starting to feel repetitive and unfunny.

70$?? For a 17 years old game from a dead platform that might as well be abondonware and that has aged graphically like fine wine thanks to being 2D ? Why ? I would understand if the fan made translation was a subpar job and having the official translation would dramatically change the story but we both know the fan made translation had the same care put into it as religious texts and aside from very minor name changes the official translation wouldn’t be any better.
And then people would complain when they get fucked backwards by these greedier and greedier companies. It’s scary that the speed of improvement in the AI sector is so fast that people are still talking about something that wasn’t a problem one month after it’s launch if the person sharing the picture spent a bit more time than just writing the prompt and tapping “GENERATE”. not only it wasn’t a problem even back then, you could even choose the pose of the character and all other sorts of parameters. Since several months you can just do the bare minimum and it output the correct number of fingers.

Phones are far cheaper than a computer tho. For people in third world country tech can be too expensive. Buying a 2 in 1 combo would be definitely great. Put the phone in a very basic dock with hdmi out and a few other ports and you have a family computer. Linux would be the ideal OS hopefully decreasing windows monopoly.
An android tablet with a detachable keyboard would be useful as personal laptop for students with limited income.
It’s a phone, not a gaming rig. Office work and internet browsing is what most people do with computers . The OS just doesn’t need to lag while doing the above and that’s enough. Cooling could be done via the dock used to transform the phone as pc.
Me too but you were talking about wanting to play a recent PC game on your phone. You play games natively made for phones or old games ported to the platform . Let’s not forget about emulation which is basically Pandora box. You have access to games from the nes library to the entire Nintendo switch library. You don’t need the OS part for this to work, it’s already there.

A privacy friendly tiktok alternative would work far better for the context of user based video hosting instances. All Videos would be 60s max and 1920x1080 or less so a lot more content would fit in the servers and therefore less maintainability. Adding a tip creator option , custom emojis and stuff with 20% going to the instance owner would allow self-sustainability.

I have quite a lot of ideas and whil I am an amateur programmer,such games need stellar writing to be worth it and I doubt I can pull it off. Also, while the art doesn’t need to be very fancy, I can’t draw for beans.

I actually rely on a very human effect to scribble as a de-stress mechanism. I paint and remove random lines until pareidolia kicks in and I see a form in the nonsense. I then just add eyes and a mouth and some additional touches . Sometimes, I end up with some nice character concepts I wish I could use.
Hayao Miyazaki the founder of studio ghibli aka what if anime wasn’t made for horny teens but instead had Superbe stories that delve into complex philosophical subjects and strong female lead roles that would even make girl power movies feel sexist. Even if you despise anime, just watch any of their movies really. One advice tho : Don’t start with “grave of the fireflies” or otherwise you wouldn’t sleep that night.
I think writing ffmpeg manually would’ve saved me the weeks of pain of trying to do it programmatically via subprocess. The ffmpeg module is slow as hell, I geuss from having to pipe through python or something.
ffmpeg is one of those programs no matter how many times you use, you still have to search how to do something with it.
Not only ffmpeg is complex, It allows you to do things in different ways ( for compatibility ) so you can find a far nicer command than the horrible mishmash creation you have and spend another week remaking the script from scratch. But then you think of a better directory structure to work with and now you have to spend few days updating the script. Pain…
I reckon I used AI to create the initial command ( biggest mistake , even gpt4 output somewhat working but garbage Ffmpeg commands) and I am a horrible programmer but still… It was tiring.

I’ve had access to all the add-ons since a few months already using fennec and it’s been like that for years. It’s a not hard to setup but I have done it a long time ago so I don’t remember exactly how. You need to make a Firefox account. Go to your account and create a list of the addons you want to use. Copy some Kind of ID ( I think account ID) and put it somewhere in fennec. Just follow a guide.
Seeing how Firefox usage numbers have plummeted to only a few percent, I am pretty sure most people that use it are tech savvy enough to do it. The regular layman’s will certainly use a chromium based browser as their default like how basically my entire family does.
