It's the size for sure. I don't think I've ever gone thread to thread and seen the same people on reddit. But her eon the fed, I'm actually surprised to see the same few names pop up here and there.

From my limited understanding they're all based on activitypub, so the way we interact and generate content is the same. The difference is the UI and implementation of features outside of activitypub
This site lists the communities on -shall not be named- that have either migrated or are also located on different sites. It also lists whether it is the official community or a spin off. A very helpful tool for those who have rid of -shall not be named- and have forgotten communities they once followed.
Make no mistake if the fediverse keeps gaining traction there will still be gamification so long as there are points associated with posts. Even more so since profiles are generally less anonymous than reddit.
Most mature social networks do remove this information to prevent users accidentally sharing their locations. Can someone positively say whether Lemmy is aware enough to strip extra information from photos?
Lemmy seems to have gotten the lions share of reddit migrants. Which is fine mostly, it's got good features and seems to be the popular pick. But with all the posts I've been seeing lately it really seems like many Lemmy users think Lemmy is all there is. I personally don't give a shit how you are viewing the fediverse, but to me any boasting about your particular instance reads like you're bragging about the designer of your glasses...
