Personally I mostly use audio books instead of reading because I get eye strain a lot easier than I used to. I go to an eye specialist for unrelated issues yearly, so it’s not an issue with a wrong lens prescription. It’s not a problem when I’m doing a low attention task where I can look away frequently, but for reading it sucks.

Dawn Powerwash is pretty great for general cleaning too, not just dishes. It’s great at removing soap scum. You can technically DIY it with dish soap, isopropyl alcohol, water, and a spray bottle, but the bottles they sell last a while and are cheap.
Not other than seeing stories like this pop up every few years ever since the first time a local story like this caught my attention, 20+ years ago. You can find many similar stories through Google.
This is way more common than you would think/hope. Not like it’s a large proportion of funeral homes or crematoriums doing it, but even 0.1% is a lot of bodies. Especially if it takes years for them to get caught.
And then sometimes when you have subtitles turned on it has digital subtitles that cover up in-video subtitles with something useless like [speaking alien language].
What they don’t tell you: a lot of the “breeding” (rape) of enslaved people wasn’t based in modern understanding of genetics, and instead was based on insane shit like ‘everyone from this ethnic group must be better at growing rice.’
While undoubtedly horrible, I wouldn’t expect the Middle Passage to be more of a selective force for a population than any other disaster (war, famine, plague, etc) where healthy, strong people have the highest chance of survival. Especially when you consider that the majority of Black Americans have at least some white ancestry, which would contribute as well to their athletic ability along with their black ancestry.
