sighs heavily

I don't know how I got this so tangled, but it's been an hour and a half and I've hardly wrapped any of this skein >.<

The color is enchanting, at least. Deep teal, almost like a mermaid lagoon. Exactly the color I was looking for.

Yarn is Arranmore Light in Kinnego Bay, for my newest sweater project

It's been a "Do ALL the things" kinda week - here's my weekly update for

  1. I picked up the blanket I started a year ago and made another square for it. I think I only need 9 more now

  2. started and almost finished a mitten, using yarn from the scrap pile

  3. 50g of bulky spun Jacob wool. Not sure what I'm gonna use it for yet

  4. 30g of lace weight Alpaca/Wool blend. This is gonna be socks!

A knitted mitten in stripes of brassy brown and line green. It's literally 2 rows from being finished.

What's the etiquitte on publishing patterns that are heavily referenced from another designer's paid pattern?

There's a pattern I'm eyeing for my next sweater project, but I want it in a cardigan instead of a pullover. The original pattern is rather simple, and was designed for & published by a major corporation, if that makes a difference.

I know it's fine for personal use, but what's the protocol on publishing Frankenstein'd patterns (paid or free)?

Here's another project I have planned

This is a sweater I thrifted last year - 55% silk, 45% cashmere, and only $5!

I've never worn it, since it doesn't fit and "butter yellow" isn't my color. The plan is to rescue the yarn, dye it a better color, and knit something I'll actually wear.

I'll tag progress posts with for those who'd like to follow along, or join in with their own recycled yarn projects.

All taken apart, and it only took 2 hours longer than I thought.

The collar is attached to the front by some sort of sorcery, so it's gonna stay there for now. I'll deal with it when I have to.

Onto the unravelling!

I was too ashamed to post about this during (especially when I was supposed to be finishing my other sweater), buuuuut I cast on a new project a few weeks ago 🙊

I've found I really enjoy color work!

Pattern is Cotton Grass Jumper by The Petite Knitter. Yarn is Berroco Ultra Alpaca in Lichen and Peat Moss.
