One of my favorite TNG VFX ship battle scenes was this one in which the Riker's alternate future Enterprise-D zooms in vertically from the bottom to destroy the Klingon Bird of Prey. This perspective is different from the usual horizontal plane of battle which was more commonly shown on TNG.
In the scene with Picard and Deanna in the Captain's Ready room, Picard spoke with Riker on Picard's desk monitor. The image of Riker (Season 1, without the beard) was from a different episode. I think it's from "Arsenal of Freedom".
@sezduck@petertrek1@lxskllr@allstartrek Yes, always the dry, almost-straight-man in the comedy routines. And then in Picard 3, he put sort of a reverse spin on it—sort of like finding out Grandpa has taken up hot yoga and knows more about new bands than you.
I dunno, the Worf/Troi thing was set up believably imo. Worf was flung through a bunch of realities and saw one where he and Troi got together. It made him wonder if he'd been missing out so he decided to pursue her when he got back. That was season 7 IIRC. People can change and have new realizations right up until they die.
Seven and Chakotay though, yeah that was outta nowhere.
In the flashback scene to the "Encounter at Farpoint" - era. Captain Picard read the orders which assigned him command of the Enterprise. The orders were approved by Admiral Norah Satie.
We met her earlier in the memorable episode, "The Drumhead".
One of the nice aspects of this episode was that it had Data in command of the Enterprise-D for most of the episode.
Picard used the alias "Galen" while he was part of the mercenary group. I think that is a reference to Professor Galen, one of his Academy teachers who we saw in "The Chase".
If this were #TNG, and they weren't stranded in the Delta quadrant, there would be a trial, like in "The Measure of a Man," but this is Janeway's Voyager.
In the final scene of the episode, when the Enterprise senior staff bid farewell to Scotty, there was a quick scene which didn't make sense. Deanna hugged/kissed Scotty even though she hadn't appeared in the episode up until then.
There was a filmed scene with Deanna and Scotty which was cut from the final version.
That type of scene would make sense and would belong in the episode. Scotty was having challenges adjusting to a new time, a new ship and the trauma he experienced.
Tonight’s fun fact: The young reporter whom Samuel Clemons spoke to was played by Alexander Enberg (from Memory Alpha).
Enberg also portrayed Ensign Taurik in TNG’s “Lower Decks” and had a recurring guest role on VOY as Ensign Vorik, who was part of B’Elanna’s Engineering team.
@petertrek1@brymc81@allstartrek Oh man, I had heard about Adam Nimoy and Terry Farrell's wedding, but not the divorce. I thought it was cute that they had gotten married.
