@mgh_muc@histodons My current article's bibliography has 43 items from 22 different volumes of MGH (mostly MGH SS) in it. So yeah, thanks! Especially during the early stages of the pandemic, the digital version was a tremendous resource.
Based on the-federation.info, it looks like over the last ~3 days #Fediverse added about four BlueSky's worth of active users. :blobcatgiggle:
That spike there is roughly 800k monthly active accounts.
Obviously measuring this is difficult, and there are weird bumps like the one about a month ago (visible on the chart), but this time it is confirmed by other metrics sources.
Not all of #NewHere will stay, just like in previous waves. But many will. And it will make fedi more diverse and fun. 🎉

The entirety of social media is of course, under Order Socialis which has two branches: Family Personalis and Family Parasitus. You know Family Parasitus from the various species of Corpora or Corporate entities, and of course Genus Egomet which is the TechBros and Billionaires.

There are also photobloggers (foedoratus tabula -- #Pixelfed), and the Threadiverse (#Kbin Kbinauts, foedoratus kbinu and #Lemmy Lemmings, foedoratus lemmius) which hosts an interconnected set of forums like Reddit.
The thing about the #Fediverse is that it's a Federation of sites, that's your instances. You can post on your instance and see connected instances. Mastodon is a federation of connected microblogging sites.
You can change instances if you find yours to be too slow or incompatible socially.
Well I finally deleted my reddit account, and all of my subreddits, so I guess an introduction is in order!
Hi everybody! I'm an artist, and occasionally a writer. I wrote for a progressive publication for about 6 years, and learned a lot in the process, but haven't written much since. Here's an article I wrote in 2017 about decentralized social media. Please be kind, I had only been writing for a little over a year at that point! But let's focus on THIS point in time right now, the one where we are actually seeing what I wrote about come to pass. It is wonderful to see!

@AimeeMaroux I am new and totally clueless, so don't even know if this will work. But I think a have a great idea for a retelling of at least a little bit of Homer - the Iliad. It's the Judgement of Paris bit, and a wee bit of a bit before. If you're intertested, (and you get back to me and I can find it :)) ask me a question. It might be fun
@ItisBeautifulOnTheMountain I wrote an erotic short based on what happens after Paris makes his choice: in the Iliad he joins in love with Helen for the first time on the island of Kranai (Iliad 3.442-445) and in my retelling Aphrodite guides them along (FFM):
