Vamos apoiar o #FLOSS
🎨 commission. this is a fun one because i drew everything on their own canvas so i can rearange everything in the room like the unpacking or the sims game.
Kind of disappointing when I'm reminded by people outside the #gamedev industry that the vast majority of people don't know the tools necessary or available to them.
You don't need to spend any money to make a game. #GodotEngine is free and open source. #Krita is free and open source. So is #Blender3D.
I feel like a lot of people assume you need to buy tools and an engine and assets because "making a game is hard" and "tools to do hard things cost money because the problems are hard to solve."
I wonder if there are better ways we as developers can do outreach and raise awareness of the tools available for people who want to be developers but have no clue what to even search for.
@brycedixon You don't even need an engine, even a lot of gamedevs get into the mindset that it's "pointless" to make games without an engine, and that's been argued since unity/ue4/gamemaker/etc started getting big, but it's not true and has NEVER been true, and as a matter of fact when you look at steam a HUGE portion of successful indie games use no engine at all! Anyone willing to learn can make a game with a free compiler and a library card in a few months.
🐧 I wrote a new blog entry listing all the changes I made to turn the Lenovo Yoga 370 into my mobile GNU/Linux digital painting device. It's long because it contains detailed instructions for beginners. I hope it is helpful.
did a lil something for my half-orc monk i'm playing in a 5e game. they got a new outfit recently so that was the catalyst for this character ref thingy.
