@Eetschrijver
Zeker!
@bregje@bookstodon Interesting! (and with my current reading habits that would take me years haha)
I'm a German with some knowledge of the Durch language. Do you have any recommendations for Dutch books (i.e. not translated to Dutch) for me? I'm mostly interested in science fiction and non-fiction science :D they don't need to be too basic in terms of language but maybe something that's an easy read? (I already added vonken in de meterkast to my list)
@nevial@bregje this query came across my feed thanks to the @bookstodon tag, so apologies if you weren’t looking for others to budge in - but Tonke Dragt’s Torenhoog en mijlenbreed and Ogen van tijgers are classics of Dutch science fiction, and written with younger as well as older readers in mind, so reasonably accessible.
Lately I've been making very good use of my local library. It's just so much fun browsing books and being able to take books with you that you wouldn't necessarily buy. This week's stack includes some vegan cook books, some books about local history and traditions, a comic, historical fiction, a children's book and a historical film.
@Readawaytherain@bookstodon libraries rock! tho there's no shortage of books at home, this year I've been gorging on interlibrary loan requests. .As often as possible i also take advantage of reference librarians' ability to get papers I don't want to pay $40+ for. They can't always get them, but more than half the time they can.
