150,000 innocents died in Changchun at the end of WW2 when Mao's Revolutionary Army laid siege. Japanese girl Homare Endo, then age 7, was traumatized but survived to devote her life to telling the world of the atrocity China now denies. This gripping, firsthand account is tough reading, full of both brutal descriptions and dispassionate commentary on politics and humanity.
The presence of Indians, from India, in Fediverse is insignificant as on today. Most of us are happy with X and social media tools from Meta. Even the number of posts from existing users, in India, is very low though many of them seem to be active in the above mentioned social media sites.
What can be done to improve the situation? There are no carrots here.
It's depressing. I clicked through #MastodonIndians#MastIndia & found overwhelming number of toots focused on #Bollywood gossip & entertainment.
For a country with the largest population on earth, I saw little to no engagement on international affairs, not even about regional affairs (#China#Pakistan#Myanmar#SriLanka), much less about #MiddleEast and the world.

While the world’s eye has shifted from #Ukraine to #Israel and #Palestine, a gentle reminder that the civil war in #Myanmar (or #Burma) continues to simmer. This video (from 2 days ago) shows members of the Burmese army fleeing to my state in #India, #Mizoram after being chased by members of the PDF. That river is the one I posted some months ago. Locals say that #China has changed its strategy from supporting the ruling Junta to the People’s Defense Armed Forces (PDF). #NoAgendaPost but informative, so sharing - with @mastodonindians too. If true, China’s strategy to support the PDF instead of the ruling Junta could mean a lot for #India - strategically and economically.
