I manage to read a chapter per day of A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine. It is a good book, but the prose somehow is difficult to read... at least to me. Well, at least that way I'll manage.

Sometimes when I see what happens in social media, I think of Orbitsville by Bob Shaw. Orbitsville was designed as a huge trap for intelligent species. They would enter it and never leave, so that they could never be a threat to the creators of the Dyson sphere in question
Social media and alternative facts, especially at the #birdsite, keep us forever in a state where we don't get around to discuss actual policy.
As a heads up to my #readers, I'd highly recommend catching up on any of my first six #books that you might have missed by the end of this year. My 7th, while still a standalone, is very much tied to everything that's come before it and will likely hit a lot harder for you if you're at least somewhat familiar with one or more of my previous works. #readingcommunity

Ending a book series you've been reading and enjoying for some time is always bittersweet. I found myself dragging my feet through the last hundred or so pages with this one. Maybe anticipating the ending, knowing that it will be grande, or cathartic or just revealing, or just plain over. No more What happens next. But, I finished, and I must say the epilogue was just perfect.
So, now that I'm done with The Expanse, what should I read next? @bookstodon #sciencefiction
I’m. On. Fire! The second writing session of the day (776 words) was even more productive than the first (765 words). 1541 words so far today. If my math is off, cut me a break…wasn’t my best subject. My new character, (name), did a lot in the scene I wrote. #SciFi#WritersOfMastodon#ScienceFiction
