I’ve been plugging away for about 2 months now trying to grow a small hobby community here on Lemmy. It’s doing well, up from 200 to 425 subscribers in the time I’ve been active....
This post would also be welcome on !t_mobile. i am the mod of that community and while we have a decent subscriber count we could use more posters and discussion.
I’ve browsed a bunch of recent threads about more niche communities which people are hoping to grow. Which is awesome, and I’ve subscribed to a bunch of them… with the result that I now still barely have new content in my feed, because most are at only a few new posts a month....
As the service grows, I have noticed more and more people and bots popping up, only posting links to a news article and that’s that. Usually there is no post, no summary and nothing from the OP but the link....
I am a mod of !t_mobile and do a decent amount of article posting. Once the community has some organic traffic i will slow down or totally stop doing it. The community has 109 subs but only once in a while is there ever a comment and there may be one post that i didnt make.
How long to grow a community?

What are your favourite small, but active communities on Lemmy?
