is another new addition - this is one of very few live albums I have. I tend to generally not prefer them, but this is one of my exceptions.

Frampton Comes Live! (1976)

Thrift store finds today. Currently listening to “The Latin Sound of Henry Mancini” (1965) which has a kind of beautiful stereo mix and enough percussion to make the compositions feel bubbly and fun.

The other one, Dylan Thomas reading “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” (1964) is a holiday fave from growing up, nostalgic and magical @vinylrecords

The cover to Dylan Thomas reading A Child’s Christmas in Wales. A black and white and red cover with line drawing of a small town in winter time under a snowy sky.

#NowPlaying - the fairly battered thrift store copy of ornette coleman's "free jazz" in which i found a large amount of cash around a decade ago. another LP reanimated by the califone, sounding shockingly bright & wonderful, like it's somehow blurring all the surface noise into something warmer? don't totally get it, but it's awesome. @vinylrecords #jazz

Dixie Dregs - What If (1978)

I always loved that little section of acoustic guitar with violin in Odyssey. Sounds almost like a Kansas tune. https://songwhip.com/dixie-dregs/odyssey

#NowPlaying - perhaps the perfect califone LP that i've found (so far), standards & light pop, the compressed hum melding perfectly with the thick air of the #PedalSteel, or whatever is creating this magick grey zone between lo-fi and high. @vinylrecords

Grant Green - Alive! (Blue Note, 1970). Recorded live at the Cliché Lounge, Newark, NJ on 8/15/1970. Jazz-funk (or is it funky jazz?) was my gateway from hip-hop to jazz. The closing track Down Here On The Ground is instantly recognizable from the sample on A Tribe Called Quest - Vibes and Stuff. Anything with Idris Muhammad on drums is worth listening to. @vinylrecords

@BEK97 @WilliamRobert @vinylrecords I haven’t delved too deep, but Turn This Motha Out was worth it for the Tasty Cakes alone (the whole thing was solid tho)

@BEK97 @vinylrecords Maiden Voyage is a bonus track? Insane. It's one of the best things I've heard in my life. is a monster on this record--kicks the band into another realm.

#NowPlaying #Airto - Seeds on the Ground: The Natural Sounds of Airto (Buddha, 1971) w/ Flora Purim, Hermeto Pascoal, Ron Carter et al. Couldn't wait until xmas to hear this one. Real Gone reissue sounds great. #Brazilian #folk #BossaNova #jazz #world @vinylrecords

- getting my head together post-hanukkah with yacht vibed 1983 willie, strings & slick production frankly sounding a bit queasy on the califone. @vinylrecords
