There is one large glaring security concern in modern CPUs, ME. Is it possible to avoid ME with FPGA or some other hardware?

I’m in the process of divorcing google so YT is a HARD no for me. Google had demonetized my friend’s viral video (close to a decade ago) of his 5 1/4" floppy drives playing toccata & fugue in d minor over MIDI and it left a FOWL taste in my mouth. Most of my videos are 45-90 minutes in length. Night time videos are 2.5gb. My...

This week I finished setting up Arch Linux (It felt so good to nuke Windows 11 off my laptop!) and GrapheneOS for my new Pixel phone....
Is there a platform similar to disboard-dot-org for Revolt servers? I’m interested in discovering servers, but the current discover feature is limited and somewhat buggy on the Linux client I’m using. If you have any information on this, kindly share it with me.
Well duh you might say but I usually have a policy of no Facebook-related apps at all on my phone. Not long ago however I purchased a Occulus Rift headset for my kids and at some point installed the app for it on my phone. I never logged into it and ran it once but didn’t go further than that, eventually using my daughter’s...

This seems like the final technology in containing and categorizing different PC uses into different virtual machines, while still having good feel even in contained things. If set up right you can have a seamless experience tabbing between a host system and virtual system, and you can do whatever you can normally do in either...

GrapheneOS is the best! I can now confirm it works great on the tablet as well! I understand it’s ironic de-google phone/tablet with google hardware, but it just works better then anything else. Permission toggles, pin scrambling, auto-reboot, scopes, MAC randomization, isolated user profiles, longer passwords, sandboxed apps,...
Looks like none of the consumer-grade security cameras (Nest, Arvo, Ring, etc) support being able to embed the feed on a web page anymore. I think many of them never supported it, but looks like since Google bought Nest, they are slowly stripping features out of that one....
My nephews & nieces aren’t currently allowed much computer access because their parents worry about screen time, inappropriate content and the like. But their mother was sharing concerns with me that they won’t have the basic computer skills and understanding that we learned growing up in the 80s and 90s. Having to make...
