It's kind of funny how many 1:1 clones of popular subreddits were created on kbin after the big Reddit api debacle earlier this year that were posted in by like one or two people for a month or so, then just completely died. Some with hundreds or 1k + users subscribed.
Just seeing all of them in the abandoned magazine section.
But even among the few who are here, there's little posting outside of the big news and meme magazines (though that also goes for Lemmy communities). Not unique to the #fediverse by any means — there will always be way more lurkers than posters — but I really wish more people would contribute to the communities that they're active in. #kbinmeta

When I rotate a layer, and I want to rotate it by 270 degrees, you cap me out at 180 degrees. But I know you are perfectly capable of understanding how to rotate an image by 270 degrees, because you let me rotate by -90 degrees. You know. That's how circles work? You don't think I'm gonna use the crappy little slider to rotate an image by -92.09 degrees do you? Let me just type in an angle, any angle, and convert it to whatever you need after I mouse out of the field.
So these emails that claim some hacker has access to my computer have moved up a notch in annoyance and they now include a blurry photo of some random fat guy on the toilet playing with himself and they think its me...

@sour The person I'm referencing is just utterly ignorant of the Fediverse. They're the kind that does meaningful criticisms of the systems we living under, but thinks the salvation is not by stepping away from it, but by replacing the bad rich people with good rich people.
I've just learned that Romhacking.net is planning on removing their HomeBrew section entirely, probably during the next major update to the site. Sad, sad news.
The DataHoarder community has taken notice and multiple people are in the process of backing up the HomeBrew section of the site. Apparently this cannot be automated due to anti-bot measures on the site and has to be done manually, so massive massive thanks to all of them. Compilations of the contents should be uploaded to Archive.org soon.
I was reminded that Itch.io does accepts console homebrew, and in fact a lot of the homebrew projects on Romhacking were already being released on Itch as well. Romhacking removing their HomeBrew section is still unfortunate, but at least there is another place for these devs to go.
Update #2: a dump of the Romhacking HomeBrew section has been uploaded to archive.org. Many thanks to Lamuks on Reddit for manually downloading every single one of these.
I've had some people tell Me not to use it, had Reddit go nutters and ban Me for maybe using it too much.. at least that's how I feel / felt ( that's my guess that they banned me for this reason )
Anyways 🤨🤔 when I got bullied / mocked by my best friends ( at least whom I thought was my best friend ) I began to despise / resent / hate that person. Now despite the feeling I've in my head / heart ; I certainly don't want anything bad to happen to my ex best friend / friend.
It's the same with the country 😦😔 I live in; I think it's hurt n hurting a lot of people n I hate the policies and brutality the stark/great inequality it has. However I do wish shit would get better for all in this country; first and foremost.
So I guess I am saying / asking.... Just because I hate someone/ something / some place ; soooo that's not the same as hate speech right?
tldr: I hate how some people act like You shouldn't use that word (hate) n or act like it's inappropriate or what ever. Drives me nuts.
I think it’s not, especially in the cases you describe.
Someone tormented you for fun. It’s not wrong to hate that person, it’s just to do so.
Your country is doing wrong; you’re supposed to oppose that. It should make you angry.
People who conflate those feelings of righteous indignation with hate speech don’t have a very firm grasp on what either of those things means. You’re talking about hating cruelty and injustice; you’re supposed to do that.
Whereas hate speech supports the oppression of or violence towards already marginalized people. It’s about hating categories of people for who or what they are, almost universally for things outside their control. Hating bullies, hating people who perpetuate injustice, isn’t about hating a person for their immutable nature, it’s about being seriously pissed off about their callous, selfish, or otherwise cruel actions.
I enter my local Savings & Trust branch by the grocery store. I wait in line while those ahead of me dejectedly sign up for a 30-year 10% APY mortgage. I finally get to the front of the line. The bank manager is working the teller line today. This is a dark omen, she hates me for some reason. I think she assumes that I don't know what Escrow means. "ID please." I provide her my driver's license and begin to state the reason for my visit. "It seems like my mortgage was double paid for the month of August. Would it be possible to-"
"I can't find you in the system sir." Excuse me? I've been a customer for 10 years here. Every time I provide my driver's license, you bring up my accounts without issue. Why did that change today? "Is your address 101 Blueberry Lane?" No... flip over the license. I've been at a new address for 3 years now. They should know this because they hold the mortgage on the new address. 1/
"I'm not paying, you're going to open your Loan Explorer and reverse the payment by hand." "I can't reverse payments in Silver Loan Explorer Plus sir." Don't test me, snake. I worked on Loan Explorer this very Monday, I know well what it is capable of. I begin speaking in tongues reciting the old magic of running queries directly on a production environment. "Select star from account where account number like open quotes percent sign..." Dark clouds began to form over the branch. Deposit slips begin whirling around the teller counter. "Update transaction set status equals reversed where transaction number equals..." I chant more forcefully, the wind carrying my voice throughout the branch. Thunder cracks in the distance. "Commit!" I bellow, and at once all the flying papers drop to the floor. The branch is stunned into silence. 4/
"Thank you for your help today. Oh, one last thing..." I say as I pick up my rustled witch's hat. I utter final forbidden spell.
"I'd like to take my business elsewhere."
Lightning strikes the building. The pneumatic tubes running to the drive thru teller stations blow open and resound a deafening ominous note, like a massive organ at a Prague cathedral. The lights dim and all the computer screens turn to black and display a Spirit Halloween skull and cross bones laughing in demonic tones. The floor splits open to reveal Hell beneath our feet. The cash in the vault bursts into flames and the cash boxes melt.
"Have a wonderful rest of your day!" I say cheerily as I stroll out of the branch before it is consumed by Hellfire and cheap Halloween ornaments. I laugh gleefully as I fly away on my fucking magic broom. /5

Comments like these forget that real people can also create terrible and nonsensical articles. Or they don't agree with the point being made so they just claim it wasn't a real person's idea. Or both.
