A few days ago I sent a GDPR request to some company to delete my personal data. They said to install their app and send a ticket from the app. The email was sent from the email address to which the account is registered. Is this even legal?
WHY? I’ve heard a lot that LineageOS cannot be called a private system. That it is more about extending the life of old devices. Can you tell me specifically point by point why it is not private? And I’m sure it’s better than stock phone firmware in terms of privacy.
Could it be that the processor sends data from the camera/microphone to the Qualcomm/Mediatek servers, bypassing the system? Is it possible to find out about this by checking the traffic leaving the device? Are there any studies that have done this? If this happens, then even GrapheneOS becomes mostly meaningless.
