I kept up with the development of ant simulator, and this was super disappointing when it happened. The primary developer was super passionate about the project, but accidentally allowed the contract he signed with his business partners to allow them to use the money however they wanted, leading to him cancelling the game after learning they spent all his money on strippers and alcohol. It was really sad to see someone's hard work and passion go to waste, and I wish I could have played the game in a finished state, it looked really good
Mr Miyamoto simply does not understand the subtleties of the complex design patterns in these games. Any sufficiently skilled gamer would edge themselves until the final moments of the game, creating an experience that far surpasses anything available in other genres.
I’ve played enough Bethesda games to know that they’re like the Final Fantasy series, but instead of reoccuring themes or characters like Cid, or moogles, it’s reoccuring weird ass janky-ness and bugs.
For instance, I fully expect NPCs to walk stiffly as if they have a broom stick ALL THE WAY UP THEIR BUT. Random performance issues, and maybe even some crashes to desktop for flavor.
I’ll wait and see how it’s received, just like with Cyberpunk 2077, I don’t see what the hype prior to release is about. Wait and see, that’s the smart play.
I’m cautiously optimistic for the game. But either A) they’re lying out of their ass or B) they got rid of all the cool stuff like a live background world, any sort of AI, etc. Or C) they made a huge evolutionary step forward (for Bethesda).
