Alternative to Google Photos
So I’m looking to disconnect myself from Google and their tracking (as much as possible) and I was thinking about installing GrapheneOS on my Pixel phone. I mostly use my phone for Lemmy, Signal, NewPipe and taking photos. The last one is my biggest bother at the moment. The Google Photos environment is so convenient - I take...

Baby Journal - Open source app for tracking baby activities ( baby-journal.app )
A while ago I made an app for tracking baby activities because I became a parent and was horrified at how many permissions the existing apps required and how much tracking they contained. Both the app and the server are open source....

Watch people edit open source maps in real time. would make a great screen saver. ( osmlab.github.io )
Found out about OSMand via Lemmy recently and have since been contributing via ‘StreetComplete’ on android. I’ve been enjoying making edits myself. Cool to see people doing it all over the world. The way its layed out is pretty cool. Pair it with some slow jams and you got yourself a good time.
Btrfs Assistant is a useful GUI management tool to make managing a Btrfs filesystem easier on Linux ( gitlab.com )
Just noticed this really useful GUI tool that was not around a year ago or so when I switched my Home folder partition to Btrfs. It seems to cover all the generally used type of Btrfs features you’d use including running and monitoring scrubs or balance operations, and even viewing and browsing snapshots, with options to...

recommendations: Secure minimal wireless camera app for old phones
Hey there, I’m looking to convert any of my old phones (iPhone or android) into a wireless camera that I can set up around the house and use from another app on my daily use phone. I could run a server app on my home server or have it cloud based. Any recommendations would be welcome.

What are you're favorite FOSS games to play and why?
I love Endless Sky, it's honestly one of my favorite games! I have a pack of cool SciFi art that I found on Nexus and I've been slowly replacing the stock photos for my personal game. I'm also a sucker for TeeWorlds, it is delightfully infuriating and hillarious to play. I know that's baby's first FOSS games but I'm new to open...

Recommendations for FOSS shopping list/checklist apps?
My wife and I have been struggling to find a decent app that we can use to check things off. Primarily, we’d be using it as a grocery list, but ideally I’d love for the same app to be able to handle her long-term “honey do list” projects, and for that one cloud-syncing is a must....
