Smoked a 10lb Boston butt this past weekend to help feed some friends on a small “get away” cabin trip. Turned out pretty okay. Lessons learned, every time!...
What is something you could never get tired of eating? That one dish, meal, or snack that no matter the day, you know if you had just a piece that time would stand still while you enjoyed that food for just one moment?...
We felt like eating vegetarian tonight, so I modified a chicken korma recipe for tofu....
Leftover’s used were sour cream and chive rolls, beef pot roast, and jus made from the pot roast drippings, all made from scratch....
I used recipes from Rose Levy Beranbaum’s Cake Bible. The cake is her classic chocolate butter cake, baked in three 6 inch pans rather than two 9 inch pans, then cut in half. The frosting is her chocolate silk meringue with 3 egg whites rather than 2. I eliminated the water and heated the egg white and sugar slurry over...
You guys inspired me to try something new :) Recipe: www.budgetbytes.com/air-fryer-chicken-thighs/
Bacon and blue cheese with a bit of mayo and mustard! I pressed a bunch of patties and froze them last week, and just cooked the beef from frozen. Tasted great!
Anything from mundane to magical - let us know what you’re eating this week!...
A friend has been growing oyster mushrooms and he gave me some this weekend. I made a lovely dish involving curry paste that turned out incredible. With a side of a quinoa, asparagus, and tahini dressing side I had meal prepped, this dinner just felt like a win. Healthy and amazing!!
Pickled cauliflower, drained & tossed with cornstarch, fried quickly 1-2 minutes (or air fry at home), dust with seasoning salt & bbq. This is a riff off the original dish I made this for which was basically the same prep, except finished with Generasl Tsaos sweet hot sticky sauce, served over rice & garnished with sesame &...
A low-cal dinner I made the other night! Air fried Agedashi Tofu with Shirataki Rice, steamed broccoli and Sriracha
Pre-workout snack. Lightly salted rice cakes with Nonfat Greek Yogurt. Cheddar Popcorn seasoning and Frank’s Red Hot, Cinnamon and Sugar-free maple syrup, Black Cocoa and homemade chocolate syrup.
I’m looking at buying an induction burner but it’s hard to find which brands may be reliable. Most of the youtube reviews are done by review bot channels and relying on amazon reviews in this day and age… yeah. So does anyone have any experience with these and know of a brand that I can go toward?
This prep is fully dehydrated to it will keep unrefrigerated and all you have to do is add water when you want to eat it! Incredibly light weight.
I started a small farm this year, and this was my first meal sourced from my own plants and poultry!
Made with aforementioned peas, bell pepper, chicken, and cavatappi. Sauce is lemon and olive oil. I like to keep the Parmesan with a dry texture so I grated over the top instead of emulsifying in the sauce. There was going to be some summer squash, but they were not ready yet. :( The beauty of pasta primavera is that really any...
Can’t wait for dinner tonight!
My mother loves Battenberg cake but she can’t get it in Canada, so I decided to make her some instead. I didn’t bake two separate cakes to get the tile pattern, but it tastes just as good....
EDIT: Now with image!...
Made these this last weekend, it was my dog’s birthday and she loves stuffed kongs, so I made us all a human version! I melted cheese on top at the end but I didn’t get a pic of that. The yellow ones are a vegetarian version.
My wife and I recently got a charcoal smoker/grill after our old bullet smoker finally rusted through. It came with a pizza oven attachment and we’ve been slowly perfecting our dough and cooking techniques....
I made this for a BBQ competition in 2019 and won first place in the side dish category against 60 teams. I’m still very proud
