Reddit still works for me on infinity for reddit. I’m here about 95% of the time. That site is now very dull and boring. Lemmy has gotten so much better. Just waiting for the apps to be feature complete.
Same here, boost has been working the whole time, think it only went down this morning which is fine because I feel disgusted with myself Everytime I check my account. They’ve removed most of the mods that protested and actually gave somewhat of a shit and replaced them with people that don’t care about any of that and just wanted to mod. Spez might have had to take the protests a teeny bit more seriously if he didn’t have these new spineless mods to replace the old ones which is proven by the fact that he forcibly removed so many in the first place. So I feel icky when viewing any of those subs. Also yeah, he fucked over so many handicapped users removing their preferred 3pa. I know, “but accessibility features are excluded now” - but those that already had their acc. And preferred 3pa set up the way they like it will now have to figure that out which imo would be hard while blind…
Anyway I can’t wait for Boost to come here, that’s always been my preferred 3pa and if he’d hurry up and port it to Lemmy I’d feel complete again
And 90% of them have been bitching about reddit, talking about reddit, or asking how we can make the fediverse more like reddit. I’d love to contribute more, but there is honestly very little in the way of content here outside of the reddit exodus, besides basic memes and nsfw bullshit pages which are already getting flooded with bots selling OnlyFans subs. People have talked about how much higher quality the posts are here, but I don’t see it at all.
Sounds like you need to curate your communities a bit more so your subscribed list works better for you. The memes on the front page are part of the organic growth of the site but there are tons of smaller communities with good stuff here that you can fill your front page with.
The number of posts and users is skyrocketing but we’re not reddit yet, we don’t have all the niche subs with 100,000 subscribing lurkers to drive visibility. If you’re missing an experience then it’s up to you to try to create it by posting what you want to see.
That’s an insane stat. As a Reddit immigrant, I would love to know the percentage of those who posted on Reddit and/or were mods, have migrated as well. That would correlate with the increase of posts in Lemmy, as well as the degredation of content on Reddit. Let’s see how this goes.
I’m super against abuses in scales but this one isn’t that bad. It wouldn’t have changed too much but yes, it’s slightly deceptive to track it as what looks like 10x the growth instead of 5
It’s half way up a line at the start of the graph, and the end of the graph is at 8 lines tall, so by my math I’d say it looks like 16x vs roughly the actual ~4x improvement.
