Been using lemmy and really enjoying it. I have a twitter account that does me no good so Mastodon seemed very appealing. I joined an instance, made some posts, tried interacting with a lot of people. . . I dunno. It just never really grabbed me....

I would like to follow some nice and informative mastodon accounts. Any recommendation?

I've been using fediverse stuff (Mastodon and, most recently, Calckey—I'm just going to use "Mastodon" as shorthand here; purists can bite me) for over a year now and have been doing so full time for about six months, following Elon Musk buying Twitter (since on principle, I decline to give Elon Musk money or attention). Sorry if this has been asked already, but I'm struggling with my google skills and fediverse right now...

Not sure why this is happening, it's been like it since I came over and it's quite annoying. No matter if it's on All and filtered by Hot,Active etc, every so often new posts will auto feed right at the top and shift everything down....

Currently it's recommending sopuli.xyz, an instance i've never heard of that requires applications to join, and beehaw, an instance that defederated from the other large instances....

Can other instances "back it up" so that the posts submitted to the instances aren't lost?

One of the biggest issues I'm having trouble getting past with Lemmy is not knowing which communities to subscribe to....

If there happens to be a big delay in sync, let's say 7 hours, and I reply to a post that's from another instance, would the notification that's sent to OP on the original instance be at the top of the notification list or would it be buried under notifications that they got in the previous 7 hours?

I used Imgur a lot to post pictures to reddit and since I replaced reddit with lemmy already I thought it would be nice to replace Imgur as well....

Was using Lemmy.ca as my home instance for a while, now it's gone. Just wondering what happened or where I can find out.

My tendency seems to be owning my own business and freelancing until I die (until I get stable enough to build my own products). I've been trying to connect with more business-minded people--"average of 5 people" type of mentality. Currently it seems that the only way of doing this is LinkedIn....

I open same community directly on Lemmy.world and via feddit.de. Number of subscribers are very different....

Too many people are confusing the two. Whenever lemmy.ml or its devs do something stupid, people go “Lemmy is getting worse and worse,” or “I’m leaving Lemmy,” or worse, “I’m leaving for Beehaw.”...
