Is there a guide somewhere to how well Lemmy / kbin / Mastadon / etc interact?
As I understand it, the main fediverse softwares all implement ActivityPub in a little bit different way, and so don’t fully overlap with one another in terms of how well you can see content from one on another and in what ways you can interact with it. Is there a summary anywhere that just has a quick breakdown of what...
mastodon.art defederating calckey firefish social. Cites behavior of lead project dev ( dotart.blog )
mastodon.art has decided to suspend firefish.social from their instance due to issues with its administrator. The administrator of firefish.social was found to be boosting posts from a known harasser on another instance. mastodon.art takes a firm stance against racism and suspending full instances in these situations is part of...

Building an open share button for the distributed social web ( werd.io )

Possibly a dumb question, but is there, or could one of the extra smart people here build, a federated marketplace to allow for direct buying and selling without the middle-man enshittification of ebay, reverb, and the like?

Curious about Mastodon. How should I pick a server?
Additionally, In order to not overwhelm the largest Lemmy instances, I opted to register with a smaller one. Should I apply the same logic to mastodon.social and the other large instances?...
When your instance defederates from another instance, their content can't be pushed to you, but is there a way to stop your content from being pushed to them?
Or have I misunderstood entirely?
